Meanwhile, the rest of Venezuela is dealing with a severe recession and endless economic hardships. The country is literally coming apart at the seams. Go figure.

That was always the plan of socialism and is still the plan behind it: the gradual concentration of all power in the hands of the fewest. That's what's happened in all attempts at it.

The roles of Frederick Ingels and Karl Marx in developing socialism/communism is highly exaggerated. They were nothing but paid hacks employed to put a spin on the revolutionary ideas of Adam Weishaupt from the mid 1700s that would appeal to the lower classes. hence the idea of "from each according to his ability; to each according to his need."

Weishaupt, Robespierrre, Lenin, Stalin, Tito, Mao, Pol Pot, and Castro all understood the most expedient means of raising eliminating poverty will always be to eliminate as many poor people as possible, it's cheaper than educating them and makes more sense than sharing the wealth those at the top confiscate from the powers they overthrow.

TRUE! Guess why? Chavez was constantly running a deficit with his overspending, always raising taxes on the people and businesses, and expanding government.

Now the graph of Venezuelan government revenue resembles Hillary's popularity and government spending has barely started tapering off.

And farmers there have to get a friggin permit to kill a chicken or a pig to feed their families.

Art_Deco an all expense paid trip to space? What a frigging sack of runny cat shit lies is that?
    ROTFLMQAO!!!!!!!!

I missed that!!!!!!!!! Can you imagine being stuck in outer space for any length of time with that incessantly bragging, vain, neurotic queen?

He'd have failed the psych part of the astronaut program and probably even the psych exam for being a taxi driver.

Just think if he met ETs...... they would definitely declare war on the entire Earth for sending him off our planet.

In the article they talk about how she made $15 million importing rice to feed starving Venezuelans by jacking the price up on it. That was substantiated.

Dude, she's not the exception under socialism. She's a prime example of the story behind the rhetoric. So is the pudgy little psycho in North Korea who daddy was the biggest consumer of cognac in the world during his reign. I think it was over $600, 000 a year that he was spending.

Millions live off less than a dollar a day. You have India as a prime example.
Here we have starving children and families who really have no extended hope.
They made over 150 million in less then 10 years and only paid 45 million.
Holidays in the Hamptons, Prime Residential locations, such fine examples of the Liberals in our country!

My next worth could be trillions, but why? I can live like a king for a few hundred!!

For some reason, that comment on this thread about rich liberals and socialists and their hypocritical abuses, I thought of a 64 year old woman, married to a 70 year old Israeli who owns a Hispanic television network who's on the board of the Clinton Money Laundering Foundation who's caught up in a mega million dollar scam that has the IRS up in her butt crack.

Don't worry though. Her good friend Hillary will get her out of it when she becomes president... if she bundles enough campaign donations and funnels enough to Bill.

Just $36 million the Clintons treated as a gift... nothing to worry about.

I wouldn't mind if his increased spending resulted in new, state of the art infrastructure, schools, and hospitals throughout all of Venezuela including modern highway access to Angel Falls, the world's highest known waterfall. But we all damn well know that his excessive spending was confined to Caracus and its environs and the populous, prosperous coastal area. The rest of the country is mostly underdeveloped and isolated. That is what burns my ass. This is an example of CRONY CAPITALIST SOCIALISM and Venezuela is rapidly going downhill thanks to it.

You do realize that "Capitalist Socialism" makes as much sense as saying "Jewish Muslim" or "Christian Atheist", don't you?

Hugo Chavez was a pure Socialist doing exactly what socialism is intended to do: consolidate all power in the hands of government, from bottom to top across the spectrum of industries and trades. Under Capitalism it's the other way around.

It is not that cut and dried. He used certain principals of capitalism in his brand of socialism to earn support from the country's business classes. That way by keeping the rich guys extremely rich, he could easily consolidate his power and gain more control with their blessings. All the rich executives became part of his overly expanded national government as ministers. It is the 95% to 98% of the Venezuelan population that greatly suffered under his regime but they were all brainwashed to believe that he is their national savior.

Yep. Just like Russia, China, Cuba, Vietnam.... nothing new. The sooner people wise up to the lie of socialism about "spreading the wealth" the better off they'll be. Throughout history that has proven to be nothing but bait for the proletariat who are dumb enough to believe it.

If you want to believe in a government spreading the wealth, I have have a free healthcare plan, a stimulus bill, a treaty with Iran and a bridge to sell you first...

What about all the billionaires in "communist" Russia. The sad part is that liberals generation after generation believe in Marxism rather than
Democracy and the world gets progressively worse. Are they innocent or does Marxism nurture a seed moral corruption within them.

The word innocent doesn't fit them all. The people who believe Marxism/Socialism is about spreading the wealth are what Lenin called his "useful idiots." The people who preach Marxism/Socialism are doing so just to gain power. That's been the case since the beginning and it's not going to change.

come on, those Russian billionaires were set up by New York and London to control Russia's oil and gas without too much interference

New York and London have been trying for 150 years to get control of Russia's natural resources
