The Australian Sailing and Cruising Club - the LGBT boating club in Sydney is organising a beach picnic at Athol Bay (near Taronga zoo ferry) on 20th September from 12-3pm (wind and weather permitting).

In addition to sailboats of various sizes, they'll be a group of Kayakers meeting up for a short paddle around the harbour before meeting on the beach.

There's great walking trails along the North shore for those who want to hike there too.

Sounds good, but it's a 13 hour plane ride away.

17 hours from here. Longest plane flight in the world actually.
