Another argument advanced by establishment Republicans against Donald Triump's candidacy fell by the wayside as a new poll shows The Donald beating every Democratic candidate in the general election - including Hillary Clinton.

The Hill: The poll by SurveyUSA finds that matched up directly, Trump garners 45 percent to Clinton’s 40 percent.

In other head-to-head matchups, Trump beats out Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) by 44 percent to 40 percent; Vice President Joe Biden by 44 percent to 42 percent; and former Vice President Al Gore by 44 percent to 41 percent.

The poll also found that 30 percent of respondents believe Trump will eventually be the Republican nominee, leading the field.

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush came in second, with 20 percent saying they expect him to win the nomination. Following Bush in order were retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.).

The poll surveyed 1,000 adults across the nation Sept. 2-3, and it had a margin of error of 3.3 percent.

The polling outfit - Survey USA - is rated "A" in Nate Silver's pollster rankings with a very small GOP bias. It's the clearest sign yet that the nomination is, at this point, Trump's to lose.

I posted this new yesterday morning and knew it would be ignored by the liberaggots just as yours is being ignored. I'm beginning to think they are having trouble accepting the reality that their beloved Queen of Progressivism is headed to a ruin of her own making and that Commissar Sanders doesn't have a hope.

I'm with you 100% on that.

News: It is what it is, like it or not. It doesn't matter.

We had a conversation about this at breakfast...

House guest was watching TV news and reading news as we ate and said at this point with the media having to moderate itself about Hillary in the face of the wall of facts about her.... if she is in a car wreck, gets food poisoning or stuck in an elevator all the liberal news media will start yelling TREY GOWDY AND THE VAST RIGHT WING CONSPIRACY ARE TRYING TO ASSASSINATE HER.....

    Alinskyism.

Do you mean Barney Sanders running?
That's a parallax view of the situation. Move to the left and it isn't. They'll be running a guy who specializes in spending everyone else's money against a guy who specializes in not using other people's money.

If you mean that no one in the GOP can even slow Trump down - and all the attempts to make scandals out of his off the cuff remarks just bump his numbers up even higher I'm with you.

.... The last time I heard about Jeb in the news was about some woman actually falling asleep at one of his town hall meetings.

This has been the most atypical prelude to the primaries I think there's ever been in the US....

    And I'm loving it.

The political duopoly has been neutralized and handed their hats.

If you have an IQ of less that 17, you would like Trump. Otherwise, the polls that are taken over a year before any election is just as shallow and superficial as Trump is.

Well then I guess I'll eat popcorn and tune in some news...
    MSNBC... "Caught on Camera"
    Bloomberg... Safe Step Infomercial.
    HLN... Forensic Files
    CNBC... Body Shred infomercial
CSPAN coverage of a e-commerce convention
    CNN... not that desperate.
FOX... by default. Only channel with news...

Yeah..."smartmoney" seems to have a lot in common with "smrtnfit22" in doing that.

Considering how much more coverage the media is giving the Republicans and Trump in particular*, it's no surprise that Trump is polling higher, but not by as much as one would think. He's barely covering the spread.

I'm looking forward to an early October Surprise. A whole year early. You just know one is coming.

*I believe this to be because, apart from Sanders, the Democrats aren't yet campaigning all that hard.

    Got to love this...
How do you deal with impending defeat if you're a liberaggot?

First, attempt to rationalize away the reality of the situation like this...

Physiqueflex saidConsidering how much more coverage the media is giving the Republicans and Trump in particular*, it's no surprise that Trump is polling higher, but not by as much as one would think. He's barely covering the spread.

Then construct a fantasy world like this..

I'm looking forward to an early October Surprise. A whole year early. You just know one is coming. (***loan me your tin foil ESP cap Phyllisflex!***)

*I believe this to be because, apart from Sanders, the Democrats aren't yet campaigning all that hard.
(***how does this differ from wishful thinking?***)

I read these posts yesterday. Instead of commenting here, I decided to devote a few hours to reading up on the potential Democratic candidates once Hillary is reduced to a non-issue.

Lincoln Chaffee doesn't need any discussion.
Opening his campaign with 'Go Bold, Go Metric' made me think of Jimmy McMillan and his 'The Rent Is Too Damned High' Party. But then there's the question of his living in Canada and being a graduate of the University of Montana's school of horse shoeing...

Martin O'Malley is interesting but I doubt he'll win the nomination. All he has to do is mention his record of reducing crime as mayor of Baltimore and it's fair play to tell how he did it by bundling crime reports to make 20 car burglaries in a zip code count as one crime. In 2005 Business Week praised O'Malley and compared him to other young Democrats like Illinois Senator Barack Obama and Illinois US House of Representative Rahm Emmanuel, who filled the seat vacated by Rod ("I can't give (this seat) away - it's fugging golden") Blagojevich. Those comparisons probably will not sound as swell to voters today as they did ten years ago.

Barney Sanders We've all had time to familiarize ourselves with him. One thing I found out that's worth noting is that his wife might have a tendency to become Hillary Part 2 if she becomes 1st Lady. http://vtdigger.org/2011/09/27/jane-sanders-resigns-presidency-of-burlington-college-reaches-settlement/

Jim Webb A single term former senator from Virginia with a truly moderate record that might be a problem with the far left unless he panders to them. Author of several war novels and one movie script. Possibly the most serious contender if he's been through some extensive anger management counseling. He's gained a deserved reputation as an unpredictable spontaneous hot head. He booted himself out of the job Reagan appointed him to 9 months earlier as the youngest Secretary ever of the US Navy when he offered up an ultimatum to the Joint Chiefs of Staff over approving their plans for the future of the US Navy instead of his. He's a decorated USMC Vietnam veteran who understands the Middle East and would likely, as president, be the worst imaginable enemy of the currently corrupt and incompetent Veterans Administration.

also about Jim Webb. There's no way he and I didn't meet at least once in our pre-college years. His father and mine flew the same same planes at the same time during the WWII European theater and no doubt knew each other and were most likely friends. Our families were stationed at several of the same bases. I'm 3 years younger than Webb, enough to insure we never would have socialized in or out of school except through our parents.

Clearly it hasn't occurred to you that most RJers have either put you on ignore or have simply left the forum in disgust. You're toxic and you don't even realize it. Socal may not be the sharpest tool in the box, but even he has grasped the fact that he's basically talking to himself these days. Perhaps when you're left with just your conservative buffoon buddies and a couple of sock puppets to chat with, it will dawn on you too.

Socal is sharp enough to know you created your sock Marvin in a pathetic attempt to cover up your addictive behavior. He's also smart enough to know you are a seriously mentally ill dude with an obsessive compulsive disorder, with you locked into our politics on a very deep, emotional level.

This is interesting. I know Trump is his own phenomenon, but I bet that the absence of debates does not help people get to know the Democratic candidates.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz simply refuses to have many and prefers to have them late. The Democratic party simply does not seem democratic.

That's something that hasn't gone unnoticed by many hard core Democrats who really are unhappy about that and the way they started out with an obvious presumption that Hillary would be the only one in the primary. Even with things stacking up the way they are against Hillary, it's quite obvious that all of the Democratic candidates except Barney are staying in the shadows and not even attempting to act like they are campaigning. Are they afraid of Hillary or are they just acting like smart wolves waiting for this wounded moose to die on her own?

And don't get me started on Debbie Wasserman Schultz. She's not a Democrat, she's a full blown 5,000 volt Socialist Progressive hiding as a Democrat. As such, and the fact that she's head of the DNC, it makes perfect sense that she has no use for any sort of democratic processes or debates.

LOL. I imagine Wasserman's ideal version of a democratic party debate would be Hillary Clinton being asked pre-approved scripted questions by George Stephanopolis with a studio audience and flashing applause signs to prompt them at the right times.

You're not sharp, but you definitely are a tool. I noticed a couple of weeks ago that a Hillary Clinton story was the "most viewed" story on one particular day on the telegraph.co.uk website. The Daily Telegraph, by the way, is a very established British conservative newspaper and the story (unlike most Clinton stories here) had nothing to do with Clinton's emails.

What some narrow minded American conservatives don't realize is that, while their own outlook virtually ends at the US border (and sometimes at their own state or county boundary), the rest of the world tends to have a more catholic interest in world affairs and (for pretty obvious reasons) in the politics of the United States. Socal just cannot get his parochial little mind around the fact that anyone outside the US might have a deep interest in US politics and current affairs.

Oh please. You thought you were so clever, creating a sock who attacked you and your cronies and then attributing it to me. Anyone who is reasonably perceptive can see right through you. Do you think people have forgotten your hammy veiled threats: "I'll strike at a time and with a method of my own choosing"?

I've got a better idea, you toxic little crank. Seeing as you and your buddies started this (i.e. accusing me of being MM), why don't you take your own advice and contact admin yourself, hmm?
