I had a weird dream las night, which creeps me out a little bit

It started with me calling a friend and for some reason the call went to the person that I loved and he picked up and asked why am I calling him in the morning, I just hung up ( I am not really in any contact with him although he would love if I would be, long story, basically it was one sided )

after that I am in a room with a guy, that I have never seen in my life before and I can see his face and I am thinking to myself this guy I love him, he knows me he gets me and knows what I want.

Why I am seeing a guy in my dream, his face, that I have never seen before ? Is the universe trying to tell me that is the guy i should look for or what?

Dreams are usually your mind's way of trying to work out something that is bothering you, or that you have not resolved yet. So think about your personal situation and things that you are still trying to think through, it may not even be a person, but a situation in your personal life. The person in your dreams who you don't know may be a symbol for something else in your life that is unresolved.

I've been using that site for several years to decipher my weird dreams. It's proven to be very useful.

If you want it put out there simply, your dream basically means you're the type of person who falls in love very easily. icon_wink.gif

You are your best interpreter of your own dreams.

Dreaming serves a number of functions. Basically they sort of sort out your day, probably a brain-visual (inner computer screen) representation of the amygdala associating thoughts with emotions and storing all that into memory as symbols for efficiency, or however the fuck that works. You can look it up; I might not have that exactly right.

But also we're kind of multidimensional creatures and also the brain has this tremendous need and capacity for piecing together patterns. And some of us get real good at recognizing the gestalt of a thing. With some it might show up as a deja vu experience: this brain so powerfully seeking out pattern that it produces something so recognizable that you think you've experienced it before. It is that powerful that it seem reality.

And so its pretty natural for us to be drawn to patterns in our dreaming, to story line, to characters there. Even the surreal seems so real. Maybe there's something there. We find meaning in many things and in many experiences even when not inherent to that thing. That's sort of a human thing to do.

If you are interested in the symbolism, I'd suggest you start to study some of the works of, say, Jung--I love his thought processes--and his archetype. Even though our experiences of dreaming by their nature are quite subjective, there does seem some universal themes.

Empirical evidence in waking life might be two or five people describing the very same event that they shared. Well, what if they didn't share as a group but still described individually the very same event the very same way? Is that empirical enough?

Pay close attention to your dream character's behavior and monitor that for alignment with your waking character. That will help you to come into touch with yourself. As you come more in tuned with yourself you will better understand your own mind.
