Things that have happened everyday for the last 3 months or so:

I cant sleep, 2-3 hours each night
Driving to my home city from a weekend away I feel a heaviness come over me
My boss seems to be on the war path
Chest feels like a fat chick is sitting on it
Everyone thinks my life is hot shit, great money, play lots, travel

I fantasize about quitting my job and backpacking south america...

    depressed or stressed?

(Until this recent period I have always been crazy positive, obnoxious, ADD almost)

if its recent, probably stress related, feeling pressure from all sorts of sources and lack of sleep can make everything ten times bigger then it actually is

Take a break. Relax. Collect your thoughts. And then go from there.

Sounds like an anxiety attack is not too far off. I would just relax...take a vacation, even just a day off from work and do something that only benefits yourself.

It's time for some you time.

Backpacking South America fits that bill.

It sounds like you really need a break. Take one and think about what you need. It sounds like something has to change.

Relax and list out the pro's and con's...

Do something that you have dreamed of.

    LOL and good luck

    hotshotcdn saiddepressed or stressed?

Or both. Your own suspicions are likely correct, and similar comments made here by others.

BUT, I would play it safe, and see a doctor to rule out any medical issues. You may also find your blood pressure is elevated, which could require immediate attention.

The doctor can also offer advice about dealing with stress, if that's the root cause, possibly give you a referral to a psychologist to help you better deal with it. Good luck!

Hey thanks guys, glad to see your responses, the medical side is something I never really thought of based on my age.

My physical reaction has been persistent this last week (chest) so may be coincidental or tied to the stressers.
