It sounds from the article like he had a horrible diet and drank (hopefully) way more of those things than a normal person would. Hard to say specifically what caused it but this could not have helped.
I'm happy to say I have NEVER drunk one of those stupid things. Joint Juice mixed w/ iced tea after a workout is just fine. It's amazing, the dumb things people put into their bodies. No further comments allowed!
I used to drink them here and there when I was younger, and I didn't really experience any negative effects, but now that i'm older if drink even a little, i feel pretty sick. I try not to buy anything that has more than several ingredients in it, especially if I don't understand what ingredients that are in it.
