I'm not sure if there is a topic like this. But anyone one here like horror games? If so, list your favorites.

    Mine are:

Resident Evil: Code Veronica & 4

    The first three Silent Hills.

ILLBLEED (Even though its more of a comedy game)

    The first two Clock Towers

    Bioshock

    System Shock 2

    Harvester

    Eternal Darkness Sanity Effects

    Prenumbra Overture

The remake until dawn is pretty good. Typical set up for a typical scary movie except you control all the actions and deal with the consequences. Best way to play the game is to keep going even if you made a mistake due to jumpscare tactics they throw at you.

I enjoy the genre, but I'm only really into Silent Hill. The first three like you said are the better games, but some of the newer ones had good things about them too. I really liked how immersive Shattered Memories was. Homecoming had some good scares, but was a little too dependent on that rather than overall atmosphere. The Room was clunky and all over the place. I haven't played the others.

I see your points and yeah other than 4 (Disaster), the rest did have their own perks. I'm just sad that Silent Hills got canceled. icon_sad.gif P.T. was pretty good.

I tried to like horror games, I bought the Outlast and The Evil within, but I find them too dark and just too creepy and doesn't leave a good feeling and not really motivating to play

I liked The last of us I think it's more balanced with strong plot and scenes where there is human like interaction not just killing zombies all the time.

Haha! They're not for everyone. The Last of Us was indeed great I mean its by Naughty Dog, I haven't seen them skip a beat yet. icon_smile.gif

I just love the thrill of fear, so I guess that's my motivation to keep moving forward with them. The only horror game I simply could not play was Darkseed. H.R. Giger's works freak me out too much.
