They shoulda waited till the button was in use before announcing it so people can "dislike" the button.

I wish RealJock would get a "Like" and "Dislike" button.

Facebook will go up in a flamewar if this happens! Much like RealJock.

Why can't they create a "hide any post with a link from my newsfeed" button?

RealJock has a 'Spam' and 'Ignore his Posts' button...I think they are faulty.

It's awkward to "like" a fb post that shares a sad story. Instead of calling it a "dislike" button they should call it a "sympathize" button.

I have a really crazy idea.....call the person up and tell them you're sorry or go visit them. icon_confused.gif

Direct communication with a person? How old skool. Clutch the pearls!

They already do. They're called the "Hot list" and "Ignore" buttons. icon_lol.gif

Really, they should just change the name of the "Like" button to "Clutter My Friends' Timeline With This Stupid Post I Clicked On".

Is it possible to give Facebook a dislike overall, w/o having to join the damned thing?

MGINSD, I do that by not joining. Simple and efficient.

I have posted this before, I'm sure, but if you DO choose to use Facebook and find certain types of posts annoying, you may wish to explore Social Fixer and Facebook Purity. They have made my experience much less aggravating.

Same here, but too many sites require you to belong to FB in order to post. No, thanks!
