That's nice but what kind of harmful dyes have been added to make a rainbow of colors? I like my Doritos natural and healthy.

I maybe go down the chip aisles only if I've run out better nuts from a health food store but I'd buy that on purpose. Rainbow chips? Yay! I'm gonna get a bag and eat'm with a salad sammich. Yum.

Oh crap, it's not even a store item. Metta you are such a tease:

People who donate $10 or more in support of the project will be mailed a bag of Doritos Rainbows chips, while supplies last

Boy, that's a lot of work for bag of chips.

    Like your men? icon_wink.gif

Actually, when we have house parties with coffee table snacks, I get rainbow-colored cheddar fish crackers in a bowl, instead of the regular cheesey orange. In fact they only come in 5 colors, not 6, but they'll do. Gawd knows what they use to color them.

Maybe I'll have to add Rainbow Doritos to our cocktail hour snacks.

Well, they have to have something to be outragedabout ; it's what keeps them warm with winter coming along.

I do like the "All us Christians," though. As if these morons spoke for all Christians. Megalomania how much? Pride? Hubris?

    Or just stupid?

"Natural and healthy!" Oh that's rich.

I'll buy a bag just to support the company and the cause but I'll just feed them to the pigeons.

Yeah, apparently they're not gonna appear on store shelves. And you've gotta make a contribution to the "It Gets Better" project. Not sure in what condition a bag of chips would be after individual shipping to your home.

I love the comment where someone was demanding a Jesus Dorito. Who's that, a telenovela character?

They require a Jesus Dorito now, huh? Is there nothing in the bible about gluttony? Jesus toast wasn't enough?

The hilarity continues. Would be funny for people from welcoming churches to make a rebuttal video, intersperse the hysterical bleating with clergy, choir people, etc., watching quietly while eating rainbow chips, as one might eat popcorn. Too bad they're already sold out.

Right-Wingers Accuse Doritos Of Being A Gay Gateway Snack

    http://www.politicususa.com/2015/09/18/frito-lay-hilariously-accused-making-gay-gateway-snack.html

I have read that just about every major religion complains about being oppressed even though they are the majority by a wide margin. In India, for example, you will find people saying the the Hindus are being oppressed, in the US, the Christians say they are being oppressed. It seems to be a common thread of major religions around the World.

I'm wondering if a bag of these will be the next collectible six-pack of Billy beer...$300 back in 1981.

Right. The dyes may well be carcinogenic.

MuchMoreThanMuscle saidThe comments under that online article are funny.

    "SNACKMAGEDDON" was one of them.

I wanted to write this off as ridiculous but after you factor in that it's about promoting their partnership with the "It Gets Better Project" I am curious to see what this will do.

But I won't be buying any Doritos anytime soon.

    Right.

Why buy anything that is loaded with excessive sodium and probably is unhealthful for other reasons as well? One would think that such things could be flavored with paprika or some other flavoring that doesn't cause hypertension or other health problems. Every time I think about buying such things I read the label and put it back onto the shelf.

Most people just need to moderate their salt intake. Which means sometimes you may be able to have Doritos, or corn chips, or potato chips.

My primary doctor told me to lower my salt intake, the standard advice for someone with hypertension (high blood pressure). Well, true to my obsessive military background, I did just that, with a vengeance.

A few months later, reading my blood work, she said my sodium level was TOO low. And that I should ADD some salt to my diet!

These things need to be monitored and regulated individually. Not all salt is bad, most of us need some in our diet. I go light on it, but don't avoid it totally. Meaning I can have the occasional Doritos.

Because that's what MY blood work and other criteria indicate. Yours may be different. Don't make your health decisions based on Internet chat. Establish your own health baselines according to personal lab tests.

Indeed they do use a well-known carcinogen: tartrazine. It's derived from coal tar. It's so harmful it has to be labeled specifically on all food products that use it in Canada.

Any 'food' that appears intensely orange-yellow likely contains tartrazine. (Cheezies, Doritos, Kraft Dinner ... )

I don't eat the stuff either, though a very good friend always brings a bag for pre-dinner munchies when he comes for a meal (can we have rainbow dip, please?) (Yech!). But the idea is cool - glad they cold out in a day! It will have made some people thinking, it will have shown that the LGBT market is powerful, it will have given some encouragement to LGBT teens who feel alone - and it will help right-wingers one step closer to mental meltdown.

Do we need publicity like this, it's not going to help the shy one's or those who are scared to 'come out!'. Smarties began this colourful thing along time ago. Their add campaign sort of sounds like an orgy...what a lot I got!

Actually it is a great thing for the exposure.
And yes...ANYTHING that annoys the repukes is a wonderful thing.

I can only hope that the repukes on this site eat this garbage. (From their appearance, it looks as if they do.)
And as they stuff their cake holes, that they take a deep inhale of air and choke to death. icon_cool.gificon_exclaim.gif
