I started last Sunday the induction phase.
I can say I can list some positive things I'm experiencing til now.

    - I was retaining loads of liquid, it just got away.
    - I always had a problem of my intestine being way too functional, would be in many embarrassing situations due to this, and with Atkins my intestinal transit is better than ever.
    - I seeing my clothes getting larger and larger everyday, and that motivates me to keep with the program.
    - after the flu, I'm feeling smarter and haver more concentration

    Downsides

    - peeing too much, even more than before
    - missing some foods
    - the flu phase was particularly harsh

My mom had to stop, her dehydration was really serious and no matter how much water she drank. We ate some rice yesterday and she just got OK. I ate rice and my water retention and intestinal problemas came back.

I tried that once. It's unhealthy and can't last.

Actually, I've since learned that eating meat has so many downsides, for your health, and moreover the environment. Animal farming accounts for more greenhouses gasses, water waste, and degradation of forests than all fossil fuels combined. Plus fishing has brought our oceans to the brink of collapse.

With a vegan diet, you'd lose weight just quickly and healthier, plus it does more good for the environment than any other single thing you could ever do.

There's a documentary on Netflix called Cowspiracy. It's a shocking expose on the environmental impact of animal agriculture.

I grew up eating meat and dairy, but I'm weening myself off of it. Never felt better!

I went to Atkins because I find it the cheapest program there is. Vegetarian diet, mainly a Vegan diet, can get extremely expensive, mainly if you're like me that hate soy products.

When I had a better financial position I went vegan, but spent almost 2000 BRL (brazil money) per month on food for 2 people. Buying variety of nuts, green vegetables, soy milk( the only soy thing I like), grains, fruits and etc just add up loads of money,at least around here.

Go a step further and go on the Paleo diet. It's a more advanced approach from the old school Atkins diet. We have learned a lot since then. Also add eletrolytes to your water or drink real mineral water for the dehydration. You can make your own electrolyte water by putting lemon and lime slices in water adding a little sea salt and let that brew in refrigerator .
