He's the leader of a major world religion with over a billion followers which has been around for over two thousand years and he is a head of state.

He's some of his other accomplishments:

Provincial superior of the Society of Jesus in Argentina (1973–1979)
Auxiliary Bishop of Buenos Aires (1992–1997)
    Titular Bishop of Auca (1992–1997)
    Archbishop of Buenos Aires (1998–2013)
Cardinal-Priest of San Roberto Bellarmino (2001–2013)
Ordinary of the Ordinariate for the Faithful of the Eastern Rites in Argentina (1998–2013)
President of the Argentine Episcopal Conference (2005–2011)

    Also:

In addition to his native Spanish, Francis is also conversant in Latin (the official language of the Holy See), speaks fluent Italian (the official language of Vatican City and the "everyday language" of the Holy See) and German,[164] speaks French,[165] Portuguese,[166] English,[167][168] and he understands the Piedmontese language and some Genoese.[169]

What are you bringing to the table? He'll be remembered in history long long after you're dead.

Funny thing is I suspect if he ever met you he'd treat you with far more respect and consideration than you deserve.

I like Pope Francis, especially compared to his predecessor, Pope Benedict.

Pope Francis is more progressive as opposed to old school. He teaches tolerance and love for homosexuals, which is the opposite of the bigoted Benedict.

Do not let the Jesuits fool you, they are still an occult. The only 'reason' this new pope 'appears' to be much different than the last one, is the changing of the guard in 2008. (also the year of CA Prop 8, gay marriage, on the voting ballot) The black pope (who stays in the background) is the ruler of all things Catholicism, all thing religious occult, all secrets (including astrology) are kept at this hierarchy level. The 'white' dressed pope is symbolic, figure head. The last pope, more evil, was told to retire by the newly elected black pope in 2008.

That would make the new black pope more tolerant? not necessarily, just more covert or cloaked. If you don't understand what "chain of command" is, then you might not get all this. Just know, that the last pope, Nazi Razi, was moved out of the way and the old guard, the extreme conservatives, love and miss him. This could indicate the feeling of a "split" between the church itself and or its future direction. Think of it this way: The tea party republicans represents the old guard and liked the old Nazi conservative pope, the establishment republicans are in favor of this new, more moderate pope, Jesuits in favor of higher education. Here lies the split. icon_idea.gif

But, beware of the Jesuits occult cloaking device. With education, comes knowledge, comes more power

Father Adolfo Nicolas of Spain, the newly elected Superior General of the Society of Jesus, celebrates his first mass as head of Jesuits at the Church of Jesus, January 20, 2008, in Rome Italy. Father Adolfo Nicolas was elected as the successor of the outgoing Superior General Peter-Hans Kolvenbach, the first Jesuit leader to ask for, and receive, papal permission to retire from the post. The Superior General of Jesuits is called The Black Pope.

Angry conservatives insist Pope Francis is a fake Christian, Sept 23, 2015

However, the pope has a better theological understanding than most people. It is what he does for a living, after all. What conservative critics of Francis ignore is that Catholic social teaching has been consistent for more than a century, stretching back to the age of sweatshops, child labor and the robber barons. When Ronald Reagan’s partner in Cold War diplomacy, Pope John Paul II, came to the U.S., he too preached against the abuses of the capitalist system, though his fans on the right conveniently closed their ears to what he had to say. The concern Francis has for the environment grows out of that tradition.

Talk about 'creating division', its all these 'christian' people do!!, and it shows up in the right wing politics, unfortunately. Then they blame the other side for the divisiveness that they create!!!

I hope this becomes a huge eye opener, to everyone, on both sides of politics, about how much the religious right wing has become a dictatorship, extreme fanatical, dangerous part of our society.

Doesn't matter whether its Islamic, Christian or Buddhism, religious fanaticism is dangerous and should be wiped off planet earth! How do you rid thousands of years of tyranny though icon_question.gif

Who claimed it was for healing? What's fake about it?

    Who's to say it wasn't a blessing?

Why not make a big deal of politicians kissing babies while you're at it, or is pope bashing the modus operandi.

Has nothing to do with ignorance and everything to do with what I know first hand. I have my beliefs, ideas and understandings based on actual experience. Very simple.

The bold above….isn't that what religion and faith are based on? The individual's actual experience? If yes, then why are you questioning if someone likes the Pope or not? It doesn't matter what news article you link, it's not going to change anyone's belief just as it will not change yours.

It has nothing to do with whether nor not I like the pope or not or if I think he is my ticket to anywhere and everything to do with your ignorance of the papacy and Catholicism.

Catholics do not kiss the people's hand. They kiss his ring - the symbol of his office and authority just as people rise to their feet when the POTUS enters a room. They do so out of respect for the office not the man.

Stupid, glib comments about the pope wearing a dress show people's ignorance and bigotry and are just a comment to demean the man. He wears a dress no more than judges and Supreme Court justices wear dresses.

He kisses a severely disabled person and you have nothing but derision. What did it do for that person? I can't answer for that person but I can only speculate that it gave him a feeling of worth and so too to the millions of other handicapped people around the world. For the rest of us he demonstrated how we are to make Christ present to our fellow human beings. As Jesus said, "Whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers, you do unto me."

I nor any Catholic worships the pope. The congressman who drank the leftover water from the pope's glass is an idiot and borders on the sin of superstition.

The pope is not the anti Christ. This foolish charge has been lain at the feet of numerous popes. Which pope? Were they all anti Christs? This pope will die and another will take his place. Will he be the anti Christ also?

I think I've answered most of the stupidity and ignorance mentioned in this forum. Would you like me to answer any others?

Well, I know you can be forgiven of all your sins for 10,000.00. I have lots of documentation and other accounts. I am not going to upload them. You can follow the blind all you wish.

BTW.....What's your view on other religious leaders? Do you hold them with as must esteem?
