Why isn't it acceptable to make generalizations about age, when it is ok to generalize ethnicity?

Y'all know how black men are prone to be angry (http://www.realjock.com/gayforums/4114133), and old gays are prone to be desperate for young meat. Why can't we just acknowledge it? icon_biggrin.gif

Just hopping on the bandwagon of passive-aggressive questions framed to encourage tilting the scales against whichever group one is not part of. icon_lol.gif

It really depends on the intent. Are they trying to end inequality, or rationalize it? An inner-city outreach program coordinator citing black-on-black violence, is not the same as a confederate flag wearer citing black-on-black violence.

He can take off the fanny pack whenever he leaves the 80's theme party. Unfortunately you're stuck with the facial lipodystrophy icon_biggrin.gif

So others have argued on another thread that it's ok to state anecdotally-supported observations such as "blacks are disproportionately-angry"

Curious minds want to know... so is it ok to say "old guys are disproportionately looking for younger men" or "age gap relationships are disproportionately based on exploitation", since it's a far more obvious fact?

It's not okay to generalize about ANY group.

No, Radd will call you ageist and then divert topic to how black people have exploited and harassed him over the year.

You actually have it the other way around. It's okay to make generalizations about age than race. In the Grindr racism years back, black people and other minorities were given protection form people expressing dislike. Old people were discriminated against in the grindr as well as fems and fat people yet there wasn't a rule protecting them.

^^To OP's point the trend absolutely seems to be the opposite on Realjock. There are white forumers arguing for the right to use the N-word as a pejorative (not in the bro way) and many more justifying their negative generalizations of blacks with statistics.

On the other hand, if anyone supports Hottjoe's logic behind, say, dating within ones own generation lol, he gets roasted here by the same group.

RJ doesn't represent real life, but it seems like the worst people congregate here.

I wouldn't go as far to say that the worst people congregate here but you do have a point about the double standard. Luckily those here with such a negative disdain for blacks are just more vocal about it compared to the overall population of this site. I keep my distance from them and focus on less toxic members

Please, who do you think you are? I clearly remember that thread of yours that you started after having regrets about sleeping with some "average guy." As if it somehow lowered your status. Yet another example of some young whippersnapper who thinks he's more good looking than he actually is. If you want to call guys like me a racist then be prepared when guys like me call you utterly shallow. And the fact that you mentioned this "average looking guy's" "Arab" background (thus, clearly indicating that his race/ethnicity was an issue for you), makes it obvious you're not some equal race, goody two-shoes as you'd like us all to believe.

    Need reminding?

    http://www.realjock.com/gayforums/4036302/

Lastly, you pretty much have a reputation for hurling insult after insult here in the threads toward others. Such as, "(I'm) Unsurprised to see some RJers encouraging and giving him tips on how to cheat", "the worst people congregate here", etc. Apparently too many people here don't measure up to your standards for human character. That's the pattern I see in you, always expressing your unsolicited disapproval of other gay men. If we don't measure up to your exemplary standards for moral character you could just as easily delete your RJ account.

You want to drag everyone down to your level but I'm not racist lol. Despite your attempt to quote me out of context, my post history speaks for itself... as do yours. The fact is you've posted 5 times on this thread purely to attack others while conspicuously avoiding the undeniable observation by op about formers like you who somehow think this forum is too nice to blacks...

Like I said, your posts against black people speak for themselves. I have zero black friends (only because there are almost none in Vancouver), yet your attitude against them is still obvious to me and at least several others here. But you're far from the only one.

If my disapproval of guys who gives tips on how to cheat constitutes "insulting others", then so be it. You fixate on something as irrelevant as a guy's photos just because you can't admit that his parody thread is closer to the truth than yours.

Curious minds also want to know if muchmorethanmuscle will ever address the thread subject in one of his many posts here icon_lol.gif

This is also the only time I've ever heard someone refer to Vancouver as "whitewashed" icon_lol.gif

lol. You rarely interact with blacks yet you feel the need to judge those of us who do harshly? GTFO here!!!

Venture into the real world and join us in planet earth. You live a sheltered existence and I'm 100% you would change your tune if you let me show you around.

Get off your high horse you moron.

Wrong, my dislike is for cliché stereotypes. And that applies to anyone whatever their race may be. Since you live in whitewashed Vancouver it makes total sense that you have absolutely no grasp as to what some people here are talking about. Yet you feel entitled to write people off as racists who don't share your insular lifestyle. Where's the logic in that? No personal experience or personal exposure to speak of yet you're somehow an expert on the matter?

And I don't get all pussyhurt when people make jokes or generalizations about my ethnicity. I know that stereotypes exist and there's truth to some of it. Try living in NYC, Chicago or Miami and then get back to us.

That's pretty disingenuous given your supposed experience around black people. You would know that the same action means different things depending on which group holds the power. Imagine a bunch of straight people calling you fem or a turd burglar, or HIV- guys calling you Truvada-whore, adding "well you can make fun of us too"
