Restrictive clothing and undergarments often leave indentations and marks all over our bodies, leading to drying and wrinkling of the skin.

"Going naked is great for healthy skin," plastic surgeon and skincare expert Dr. Michael Fiorillo tells us. "It helps the elimination of sweat toxins that clothing can reintroduce to the body and better overall blood circulation."

Dr. Lance Brown, a dermatologist in New York City, agrees, adding, "Wearing restrictive clothing can cause excessive sweating which may lead to inflammation of the skin follicles, rashes and breakouts. Going bare gives your skin a chance to breathe."

There's more in the article. Although I think it contains a typo, when it says a body temp of 65F while sleeping is ideal. No, I believe that's hypothermia, if not being dead. 95F perhaps.

But otherwise an interesting article I can endorse, from a guy who practices much of this.

You know for the longest time I thought this was just a bunch of hogwash but since i have started sleeping naked, I have had the highest chances of having a good deep sleep. Although I still have sleeping issues, it was a lot better than before when I slept with my clothes on.

Not only am I a light sleeper but I also get hot easily. So this gets rid of half of my problems! Plus the boyfriend enjoys me in underwear so it is a plus when we sleep! icon_lol.gif

But I must say it did make me feel more comfortable with my body as well. I have come to love it more and feel better about myself. It is so strange how the smallest things can make such a huge difference. Thanks for sharing the article!

One of my most memorable naked experiences was co-hosting a very formal Thanksgiving gay dinner for 12. Around a large table (naturally) with exquisite china, silverware & crystal.

With all the guys naked. Well, almost naked. I was wearing a bowtie, Chippendales fashion. But other than that, naked below the neck. icon_eek.gif

Did you know it was common in early medieval Europe to sleep naked? And if you had overnight guests they slept in your bed with you, a guest bedroom being a luxury only high nobles & royalty were likely to have. And the guests slept naked, too, right next to you under the blankets.

Ah, how I long for the good ole days.

Here's a gay men's naturist (nudist) group to which I belonged in Minnesota. Maybe you can find something similar where you live. Or find a nude beach. If you visit down here we have a legal one, just north of Miami Beach. And there are still some clothing optional gay guest houses in Key West.

ADVISORY: This link shows candid male frontal nudity. What are you waiting for?

BTW, I was present when some of these pics were taken, but don't look for me. The photographers never included me. icon_sad.gif

And now you know, according to some sources that include dermatologists and other medical doctors, that it's healthy for you, as well as feeling good. Sounds like a winner to me. icon_biggrin.gif

Don't we all. No, no, no! What am I saying? I've already got my man!

But using that clumsy line as a segue, I gotta say I need a guy in bed next to me, preferably also naked, for me to sleep well. I don't sleep well alone. Nor do I live as well at any hour of the day or night.

So that I can understand using whatever tools are available to make that happen. Just so long as he has potential as a "keeper".

Being naked has definite environmental benefits. You not only save money on laundry, but you avoid all that water use and soap pollution.

I'm happy to heed Dr. Brown's advice. Clothing for me is now a thing of the past.
