Drives me crazy - people who wander out into a crosswalk without looking, absorbed in the really important things they're chattering about on texting on their phones. I think I've saved a few lives by actually paying attention.

I had a 't-bone' crash up at Dream Cruise while walking and videoing. Another guy coming at a right angle to me was also videoing and both of us hit so hard, head to head, that both of us went down.

I wasn't quite knocked out, but certainly dazed and confused.

In Tokyo, they actually have a Pedestrian Lane for people who text and walk. Don't know if it makes it safer?

If you are talking on a cell phone and walking in a pedestrian walking zone, you are being discourteous to others in the pedestrian zone and especially discourteous to drivers! Hang the phone up; it can wait!

Drivers are so evil in Houston. I am much more concerned about the people driving while talking on the phone or texting who then honk at me when I stand there not crossing the street because I refuse to risk my life simply because its illegal to run me over. Most people I see using a phone while walking are well aware of where they are.

Try telling that to the under 25 crowd of today. They are so addicted to their goddamned iPhones that they have become a serious hazard on the sidewalk. I have had a few people run into me on the sidewalk because they were not watching where they were walking because they were fixated on their iPhone. Pretty goddamned sad.

Ummm did they walk into from behind? Were you unable to move out of the way? I understand they were distracted but you are obligated to watch out for your own safety.
