Lucian Truscott IV had just graduated from West Point Academy. In June, 1969, he was working as a reporter for the Village Voice when he stumbled onto a police bust at a mo-owned gay bar. He stayed for the next three days.

There are so many myths and misconceptions about Stonewall, particularly from critics of the movie Stonewall and the makers of the movie itself.

If you want to hear an eyewitness report, Lucian Truscott IV will be speaking tonight 7-8 PM Pacific Time. Hear him live:

On Monday, I fell asleep before the interview with Lucian Truscott IV and another Stonewall witness began. I found a link for the archive:

Look for IMRU Monday September 28, 2015 7:00 PM

I'm listening now, and hope that this time I can stay awake through all the chatter before the interviews begin.

These two eye-witnesses describe the Stonewall Riots differently from the reports cobbled together by the Daily News and later so-called historians. One witness was inside the Stonewall Inn. The other watched the riots unfold from beginning of the police raid from the outside. He stayed for all three nights.

According to both, the Stonewall Inn was Mafia run bar that catered specifically to older closeted older gay men seeking chicken. The mob used the bar as a set up for blackmailing the older men; the owners were not interested in having others around. They had a bouncer to keep out unwanted visitors.

The popular history version that the bar was frequented by drag queens and the riots lasted 9 days is inaccurate. Photos of drag queens being arrested that were published in the newspaper were taken elsewhere at different times.
