do you like listening to rain? watching rain, walking in the rain, being alone under an umbrella hearing the sound of rain dropping on it. i find it very relieving, disstressing like meditation. and sharing an umbrella with someone is a sweet way of friendship.

Not me, but my partner sure does. He sits out on the open but covered patio enjoying the rain whenever he can, and I'll join him for a little hand-holding, watching the raindrops splash into the river.

But he rejects umbrellas in rain unless it's a downpour. We keep 2 umbrellas in each of the cars, and a matching pair whose 6 panels display the bright gay rainbow colors.

In the worst of the brutal South Florida summer sun, strongest in the US, we sometimes walk around our neighborhood using our gay umbrellas on cloudless days, and we aren't the only ones. Does an umbrella used for the sun become a parasol? How My Fair Lady! LOL!

Love the rain. Also have a CD- "Thundering Rainstorm" that puts me to sleep every night, usually within minutes. If feeling a little nostalgic, will whip out my Irma Thomas CD and enjoy " It's Raining", her signature song.

I actually have a bedside electronic sound generator, to help me sleep when my tinnitus (ringing in the ears) gets bad. It has about 20 different sound options, a number of them rain, mountain brooks, seashore & thunderstorm. But I avoid the water sounds, afraid they'll make me wet the bed! LOL!

Interestingly, it also has "city sounds" with car horns honking and such, I guess for city dwellers who can't sleep if they're somewhere that lacks those background noises. And really weird, a steam locomotive sound, that totally perplexes me, a fast, driving "chug-chug-chug-chug, chug-chug-chug-chug" sound.

I'll play it for friends for amusement, and tell them we once had it going during sex, and broke the bed apart! LMAO!

    Ugh. Rain.

The worst weather condition ever. I really despise the rain. Watching it from inside in the winter is fine, as long as there's a fireplace and a pot of soup on the stove, and I don't have to go anywhere.

In the summertime, thunderstorms are good to watch.

But rain? ugh. I've spent too many days carrying a wet backpack and camping in the wet to even consider liking rain...I avoid it if at all possible.

It's been around 40C here all week and today it's raining, and I LOVE it!

Not a big umbrella man, I quite like the rain on my head. When I lived in Japan the locals all told me that it was dangerous because the acid rain would make me bald. Maybe it's a long-term thing. icon_rolleyes.gif
