This grossly obese 70-year old gets gastric bypass surgery, and now smells like a sewer at work, making the environment for everyone on the job intolerable. He needed to see a doctor and see how his flatulence could be controlled. If it couldn't be, as a result of elective surgery, he needed to throw in the towel.

Here's my own comment I posted:

The article is unable to explain why the wife is filing the lawsuit and not her husband. The answer is obvious. She's mad about being stuck at home with this smelly old dude 24/7. If he got his job back she'd at least get a break for part of the day. And if she gets a hefty cash settlement she can buy cases of Glade air freshner and Fabreze, maybe build an outdoor screen room where she can exile him. What a couple of losers.

I was not aware that gastric bypass surgery was still done. I thought that it had been replaced with surgery that reduces stomach volume.

I suffer from Irritated Bowl Syndrome or IBS. According to a Medical Survey almost 75% of adults suffer from IBS. I am also blessed with a Spastic Colon. I fart when I need to, cause if I don't I get cramps. So leave the Old Fart alone. What doesn't pay rent, must get out.

I don't think it said exactly when he had it done. He may have been flatulating for decades.

In my opinion, too little research has been done on the effect of different mixes of microbes in the gut. It is quite likely that with more clinical studies ways will be found to eliminate many digestive problems by adjusting the gut microbe mix.

I hope I'm not downwind of that clinical study.

In the recovery area, this is what happens post, colonoscopy procedure. I didn't experience this myself because I had an upper GI, but I could hear people behind their curtains. I guess the air from procedure is pushed out by pressing slightly on the stomach icon_lol.gif
