There is a video on YouTube, called '40 Body Weight Excercises'. Download it and watch it, this will give you some tips. Some of the excercises are really strenuous. You can build muscle by excercising at home but it takes dedication. You don't build as fast as the guys do at the gym but once you start building muscle, all your efforts and time training are worth it. I use body weight excercise as I cannot afford expensive gym fee's. Good Luck! Hope to read on this Thread of gains you have made or send me a message.

I substituted rounds of P90x3, T25 and now i'm doing the new Insanity which is gonna kill me.

Being able to carry your body weight is important after all. If you manage to save up some money, buy the bowflex dumbbells. It's about $300 but you can alter the weight from 5lbs to 52.5 which will gave you alot of flexibility with weight lifting. A pull up bar is also recommended.

You just have to commit. There's nothing wrong with not going to the gym. I had to give up the gym because it was too time consuming with my work schedule. Now I can do a quick 30 min to an hour workout at home and not have to worry about driving, looking for parking, blah blah lol.

Another brand of stacking dumbbells is Power Blocks, great for apartments or other small homes. I got the ones that go up to 45lb. and now wish I had gone for the bigger set. They go with me when we travel along with a yoga ball which makes for a bench for flyes and chest press.

I also have a (don't laugh) Soloflex which serves as my bench and pull-up bar... haven't used the straps that came with it in years but it does the job.

Learn yoga. You use your own body as weight but it will make you look cut. Depends on what you looking for.

I remember something called the 'executive workout' designed to be done in a normal hotel room w/o weights.

    Sort of like this:

There are a lot of basic body weight exercises you can do without buying any equipment other than a pair of sneakers, shorts and a teeshirt:

    lunges
    stand-ups from sitting
    planks
    push-ups
    running
    stair climbs

It's easier to do them with a training buddy.

This inspired me to do some searches on my own... both @fitnessFAQs and @StrengthCamp look interesting. Brendan Myers has a body-weight chest routine, all variations of push ups, that I think would kill me icon_redface.gif
