Do you think it's wrong to be against revenge against murderers and rapists and not animal abusers?

I've noticed so many times that people who talk about how wrong it is to want revenge against murderers and think it's wrong to judge them, are the same people who actually justify it when it suits them, and animal abuse seems to be the most common one. I even saw a psychologist talk about how murderers should be forgiven to people who talked about wanting revenge, and was just generally being a really self righteous, bitchy cunt, but then elsewhere she said she was happy when a boy who hit a cat received death threats online. I'm actually a misanthropist because so many people are like that, they don't have consistent morals or beliefs, which leaves you feeling like you never know where you stand. Even though I like animals more than people, it still bothers me that people will be biased based on who the victim of abuse is. It's the same with parents who kill disabled children vs parents who kill healthy children. Even when no details are released about the murder of a disabled kid, people immediately start talking about how no one can judge purely because of the child's condition.

Like all criminals, they should be living in that cell for the rest of their lives!

Revenge? Since when is revenge ever justified? Justice and punishment for rapists, murderers, animal abusers, and all criminal acts. Your country is a nation of laws? Most civilized western countries are.

I think revenge is driven by a fear of lack of control of our surroundings. Most Americans would prefer a criminal justice system based on revenge than justice or reform. Its just uncouth to say so so many pretend to seek justice and fairness in a world that is inherently unjust and unfair. I'm personally against revenge and try my best not to harbor feelings of revenge no matter how heinous the act. I'm far from perfect on that front. Its the main reason I'm anti death penalty though. I just see it as a tool of revenge.

revenge is foolish and for people with too much time on their hands.
