I kind of like the song, but it does lack that Bond Lustre. It get's a bit soppy near the end. Who would you have preferred to sing the new Bond Theme? I think Linkim Park would do a great Bond Theme, they did a great theme song for Transformers - Dark side of the moon. Maybe 30sec to Mars, oh yeh!

The trailer looks Bond generic. Nothing to get excited about (yet, hopefully).

I just saw that last night. Wow, awesome, Sam Smith's song for the movie **Writing's on the Wall** sounds Hot. Overall, a Very good movie, love Daniel Craig as 007. This is a must see for all Bond Fans. I may have missed it, man that was a Hot sexy car that Bond drove in and also the villain car, 1 was silver the other an orange car, the car chase scene in Rome. Were they both Tesla cars?? icon_surprised.gif

Reviews aren't great. Poor plot and dialogue. Very good acting by Craig. Too bad he's dissing the role and saying he won't do another. He adds a less polished and gritty interpretation of Ian Fleming's fictional character.

Reviewers say it's a typical formulaic Bond movie, with all the usual elements ("Bond... James Bond"). If you're already into Bond you'll probably enjoy it. I read it's very noisy (haven't seen it myself), which hurts my ears. Ironically, people with hearing loss feel more ear discomfort in an overly loud theatre environment. So I'll wait for the DVD or satellite.

Watched it last week, and it is exactly what the critics say... a very "classic" James Bond with all the elements of the early Bond movies. This may, or may not, be your cup of tea. Also, the movie is littered with references to the older Bond movies. I went with someone who managed to never watch the early Bonds, and was quite perplexed about some of the plot. That said, I enjoyed it. Predictable it may be, but relaxingly so.

I've seen it twice, it's great fun. I love the Mexico City sequence at the beginning.

The intro credits are cool but I am still not a big fan of the Sam Smith theme. The song has grown on me but I wish someone else was singing it!

Bond had a custom built Aston Martin DB10, the villain was in a Jaguar C-X75 (originally designed as a jet/electric hybrid, then converted to a 1600cc supercharged/turbo 4cylinder Williams petrol engine/electric hybrid, then cancelled as they needed to concentrate on actually making money from cars).
For the movie they custom built the Jags -

Oh yeah I definitely noticed this! Not to ruin or spoil anything, since I'm such a hardcore bond fan and seen all 24 movies. I can tell 4 obvious references. Spectre Meeting in Rome, reference to Thunderball. The days of the dead in Mexico - reference to Thunderball. Dr. Madeline Swann in the Mysterious Austrian Alps, reference to George Lazenby in On Her Majesty's Secret Service. And the Train Fighting sequence, that was so Obvious homage to From Russia with Love. And Blofeld obvious scarface was a reference to You Only Live Twice. icon_smile.gificon_biggrin.gif

Thanks for that, after doing a little research, I realized that the Bond silver car was an Ashton Martin and the other one hmm, an orange Jaguar. Man, they use almost the same car/fight sequence in this film to Die Another Day like ZAO chased BOND in Iceland at the Ice Palace. (Another reference). icon_biggrin.gif

It was good but not as good as Skyfall
No way..the villain was the weak point for me.
They had problems with the script for Spectre it's no secret. Several rewrites and Daniel Craig and Sam Mendes had their doubts.
I actually thought it would be worse.
I'd give skyfall 5 stars and Spectre 3.
The Sam smith song is no dud it's a beautiful song.
