Do you know or have met someone that suffers from F.O.M.O? This term was coined, when Twitter, Whatsapp, and many other 'Instant messaging' app's were launched with Smart Phone's. I met a guy once who would actually have a conversation, while texting away. I found it very rude. In Tokyo, they have a Pedestrian walkway, just for those who text and walk. Just the other day, this may sound funny; a lady I work with said she hears her 'Message Alert Tone' literally in her head and then just grabs her Smart Phone to make sure she is not imagining things. On a lighter note, I once saw a Commercial, where the Husband and Wife are in a Restaurant, texting each other at the table instead of having a conversation. Being social, has been destroyed by Social Media.

I think that it is disgusting that so many people just cannot simply turn off their iPhones when out in public and be more connected to their immediate surroundings. The worst offenders are these fools who are walking and not watching where they are going. There is a time and place for everything but while walking on a sidewalk or a pathway, they need to turn off their iPhones and put them away and watch where they are going. It is that plain and simple.

But the term FOMO has other uses that are not specific to technology. A lot of music fans will talk about having the fear of missing out on concerts and events if they are strapped for cash.

I had this version awhile back about not joining my friends at various events that I could not afford to go to.
    I got over it.

Of course. It's not a big deal. It's just a unique way of describing those moments when you know you're missing out on and experience.
