OK, you got it. That's a done deal. The good news is that you went ahead and got tested, and discovered it. As with any disease, the sooner you begin treatment the better. The real damage happens when treatment is delayed, due to one's lack of knowing or not doing something.

That part is behind you. Syphilis can be treated. And the long-term damage avoided, if you take quick action.

Don't drag your feet! This is something you can deal with, if you act without delay. Left untreated, the damage can be very serious & permanent, plus you are contagious to others. Avoid sex! Treated quickly, it can be like you never had it at all.

See a doctor, who can properly advise you on treatment and give a prognosis. If this was caught early I'm sure you're gonna get good news. I wish you the best. icon_biggrin.gif

Ah come on give us a break. You really expect anyone to believe you?

Youre the guy who supposedly got banned from HIV clinic because you tested yourself too frecuently, you're supposed to be a freak of condoms and let alone you have no self esteem, so probably have little sex...now you want us believe you got syphilis, please....icon_rolleyes.gif

This is the final proof, in case anyone had doubts, that your a complete troll.

That may be the case, and you may be correct. That possibility has not escaped me.

But when I reply to posts like his it isn't just to him alone. But to any other guy in a similar, very real situation. Who stay quiet, too timid to say anything. Hopefully giving good information they could need, whoever they are.

But yeah, this could be a sham. Half of the posts like this are. I merely consider them opportunities for putting out information that lots of other guys could use, as well.

Why is it so bad to discuss?

Although the OP may be trolling it's not such a terrible idea to talk about STD's. In fact, more discussion should be had so as to bring more awareness to others in the hopes that they will be more inclined to keep up with their sexual health and get tested for STD's too.

Keeping these topics hidden away under lock and key only perpetuates fear and shame. There's no need for that. The more people feel feel uneasy about sexual health they more they tend to ignore it which can have disastrous effects.

    ^^^ Exactly right! ^^^

Many guys have the false notion that oral sex is safe. It is not! There are a number of STDs that can be and often are transmitted by oral sex. It is probably true that HIV is rarely transmitted by oral sex, but other STDs are commonly transmitted by oral sex.

Many guys assert that they practice safe sex, but when one inquires what they do, it becomes obvious that they do not actually practice safe sex since they are at very high risk for several STDs. If one suggests using a condom for oral sex, the usual response is that oral sex is safe and that there is no need to use a condom for oral sex; of course they are wrong.

If this subject were often openly discussed, probably fewer guys would contract STDs. As antibiotic resistant infectious agents become more common, this will become even more important.
