Just Bought My Husband His Own Apple Watch

I like mine so much I decided to get him one, too. He doesn't know it yet.

I thought it would make a nice Christmas stocking stuffer. He loves watches, has about 2 dozen I had to buy cases to store, most of them gifts from me. But we're going to Key West in 4 weeks, and I usually buy him a watch on our vacations. So I suspect I'll just give him this early at that time, perhaps in Key West. I never can delay giving gifts, one of my many weaknesses.

His watch is ready at the local Apple store right now, I'll try to swing by there today or tomorrow by myself and pick it up. I'm taking some friends down to the Fort Lauderdale airport at 2 today, so that'll be a good time to drop into the Apple store without hubby with me. And he won't notice the time, I'll just say airport traffic was heavy.

Nice how Apple does things. I bought his watch online earlier this morning, with a local store pickup. They emailed me a confirmation with a bar code that I printed out.

When I go to the store the door greeter will scan the bar code, and a sales person will bring the watch out to me. Otherwise you have to face the zoo of a totally packed madhouse, which the Fort Lauderdale Apple Store always is.

Same when I went to the Boca Raton Apple Store, our dear absent Sharky with me. (How I miss him here) Fortunately what I wanted there was off the shelf, that I grabbed and paid for myself, by scanning it and paying with my iPhone. No Apple sales staff needed at all.

Again, amazing how Apple does business. I wish other places were this easy.

I was just going to create a thread titled WHAT WILL ART DECO BUY THIS WEEK?

thanks for my Thursday morning laugh.

    Really unnecessarily mean.

I'm not a fan of Apple! I can't put my finger on why exactly, I just shun and reject the whole 'cult of Apple'. I think they brainwash people or something.

I hope your hubby likes his present though. You must be loaded if you can just buy random expensive stuff like that as a 'just because' gift - most mine sometimes gets is like a CD or something :-)

Those who really have nothing need to create some form of pseudo status, to help them feel important, and better than others. Must be a sad state of mind.

OK, I got the watch as planned, after taking our friends to the airport. They're off to their vacation home in New Hampshire.

The watch pickup went smoothly & quickly, typical Apple efficiency. I'm charging it up now, then gonna pair it with his iPhone. I can't resist, I'm gonna present it to him tonight, or else tomorrow morning, depending on how long the setup process takes, and when he goes to bed.

I love giving him gifts. He always gets a Key West watch from me, so I hope he'll not consider this one too premature, and not violating custom by not being purchased down there.

OK. this is gonna take longer than I anticipated. His iPhone needs a lengthy software update first. I thought he was doing that on a regular basis, as I do with my own iPhone, but I guess not.

He's already in bed, so it'll definitely be tomorrow before I can show him his fully functional Apple Watch, paired to his iPhone. But I can't wait for him to see it.

I got him a flexible, sorta rubbery "sport band" in his favorite color. That he can easily change to other colors as he likes. My own watch has a more traditional stainless steel link band, I tend to be more conservative ( icon_exclaim.gif ) in my accessories.

But I really like his, too, very soft to the touch. So that I can recommend either to anyone considering an Apple Watch, depending on your personal taste. There are also leather options, but I haven't seen those.

You do not have a husband. Although it has been possible for you and your partner to marry for quite some time now, you have not (for whatever reasons which are nobody's business).

By posting that you bought your husband his own Apple watch, you are lying.

Wow, what an unnecessarily cunty post. It's nothing to do with you what he refers to his partner as, as it has no bearing on anything related to you whatsoever.

It's a shame there seem to be a few incredibly negative (and no doubt mentally unstable, deeply emotionally damaged, sociopathic) individuals on this site, that seem incapable of contributing anything remotely positive or of value.

It's all part of Deco's need to constantly boast and brag. Why he needs to constantly do this, is a mystery.

    Quite possibly.

Come on, Radd. That's not fair. You of all people should understand finding another poster so fucking annoying that you can't help commenting on the posts he makes. A lot of us find Arty just as irritating as you found Pazzy. He uses this site for two things:self-promotion and to bash anyone who disagrees with him politically. But he paid the same thing to use this site that I did and that you did and that Southbeach did. So he has every right to say what he wants within reason just as every other poster has the right to call him on it.

OK, presented the new watch to him today. I kinda had a vague plan to this, but wasn't really sure if I'd do it this way or not. The alternative was to wait until Christmas.

This morning he hosted the Fort Lauderdale Greater Chamber of Commerce for their monthly breakfast-meeting. He made the location a new local business that he's helping to promote.

It was a total triumph. He got the entire breakfast comped, costing neither the Chamber nor the business a penny. And the Chamber members said it was the best breakfast they'd ever had at one of these functions.

Leave it to him to pull it off so beautifully. But still, I couldn't be sure beforehand how it would turn out.

So afterwards he was just beaming, as you can imagine. I figured, OK, I'll spring this gift on him right now, to totally make his day, not delay it. Turn it into a kind of celebratory thing.

He loved it! I know I can always please him with a wristwatch. He also loves the band color, as I knew he would. But when I told him he could also have any other colors he likes, they just snap on & off (typical Apple design brilliance), he thought maybe black would also be nice.

I had guessed he would, but the local Apple store had no black in stock when I bought the watch, or I would have gotten one then, too. So this afternoon I ordered a black band online, it'll be here this Tuesday. And I'll keep buying him all the colors he wants, including some leather ones if he wishes.

With the number of ex-wives Arty has, Marriage is neither a new experience for him or a way of showing love. It seems it was nothing more than another tool for self advancement; would you want to marry a man like this? I myself never having been legally married, would not.

Yeah, I think at last count it was around 20 ex-wives. You would know better than me, Pattison. You're the one who makes this stuff up.

As for advancement, yeah, some guys have benefited. Quite a bit, actually, at least materially. I certainly need nothing for myself from others, that I can't provide for myself. Well, other than the intangible love and companionship my 2 partners have given me, one deceased and the other with me now.

Your post reeks of jealousy. You might want to reexamine your own situation, before you attack the happiness & contentment of others.

Mr. Deco insults the millions who have fought to legalize gay marriage by pretending that he has a husband.

It is A-OK for Mr. Deco to call his partner whatever he wishes in private, however when he calls his partner his husband on a public forum, he is misrepresenting the truth in an effort to be in the "good gays" club of those who have legally married their partner.

Great. Now you can't refer to who in your mind is your husband or wife of however many decades as that because it undermines the sanctity of gay marriage.

I need the latest edition of the playbook.

Back to the Apple Watch topic: I picked up my hubby's black watchband over at the UPS store today. Oddly, they didn't have one at the Apple Store where I got his watch, otherwise I would have gotten him one at that time. So I had to have it shipped.

It just looks gorgeous on him, the match with the black watch face perfect. And only took a second to swap out, Apple design is so smart.

And he can go back to red, which he often wears with his other watches, in a flash. I don't know if they have a green, which he also has with one of his watches, because he likes to color-coordinate. He's so friggin gay! Well, who am **I** to say?
