I saw someone saying that violence is always justified because supposedly violence is always based on anger issues/mental illness. To me that can't be true, but do you think so?

"Reason for" is not the same as "justification." Anger issues can be the reason for violence, but that does not mean the violence is justified. By definition, justified means having, done for, or marked by a good or legitimate reason.

    *Always* justified? No.

*Can be justified*? Sadly, yes. For every pacifist who is convinced violence should never be used, there is someone who will take advantage of that to roll roughshod over them, and will *only* be stopped by the use of violance.

It is wrong that "Violence is ALWAYS justified" as much as "Violence is NEVER justified."

It is hardly ever correct to speak in terms of absolutes.

I can't respect a man who won't give me a split lip whenever I give him lip.
