Looks like canada has dumped most of the conservatives in the new election, and massive liberal victory. Still waiting for results out west but doesnt matter except our one green seat hope she retains it. Americas turn now.

... And the People have spoken. The Conservatives went with negative advertising, slamming Justin Trudeau, and it rightfully flew back in their face I'm pleased to see.

This election was a Harperendum. His machinations to stay in power by tightly controlling everything just got to be too much for people. I don't think this election was really a rejection of conservative values relative to liberal values so much as an indictment of poor management practices.

It's healthy to turf out Governments every so often; they have a habit of overstaying their welcome.

Conservative values and Liberal values aren't so very different. It's always a matter of who is invoking those values.
Harper was a nasty man who chose to divide Canadians at every opportunity.

A very good example of how political campaigns and messaging should be conducted.

especially when no matter what government Canada gets in there, things will not go well. Canada did better than expected 2008 but currently they are following the Chinese for a downturn.

our economy follows oil, there really isnt anything else to it.
If we have a crisis, we just import more people to spend money. pretty simple.

Canada has vast resources just from its position on the planet. Its got an improving climate due to global warming, lots of untapped mineral and mining resources. Many shipping ports and access to most oceans of the Northern hemisphere.

It even has one of the best places due to its climate zones for data centers (cool atmospheric heat sinks, hydrothermal power), and timezone diversity.. its a vast country.

Its indigenious population is highly educated and multilingual, diverse and quite friendly.

It is lacking in the telecommunications area which I see as its primary hold back from being an economic powerhouse.. if it wants to be.

Its citizens however have a much different world view than "only profit matters".. there was an old SciFi channel show called "sliders"

One world they visited was "Science World" where every inhabitant was fall over enthralled with everything scientific and "Reality shows" placed people like Stephen Hawkin or Brian Green in the same regards as the Kardashian family.. lol.. for all their Hockey fans.. most of Canada is very cerebral. That world most reminds me of Canada.. shockingly "intellectual".
