General: Gay people make a more effective army

The Financial Times reports that the commander of the UK’s land forces has called for more homosexuals and transgender people to sign up.

“Operational effectiveness is at the top of the pile” of reasons, said Lieutenant General James Everard in an interview with the Financial Times. “Diverse teams, well led are far more effective than bog-standard teams.”

I agree with this British General for the most part except when he makes the horrendous mistake of including transgenders because there are too many potentially troublesome issues with these ultra radical people known as transgenders. Homosexuals yes, bisexuals yes, heterosexuals yes, transgenders no, absolutely no.

    How times change!
I remember from the late 1980s serving and retired military officers, generals, and conservative politicians saying gay men were physically and mentally inferior to their straight peers and any recruitment of them would ruin the military`s operational effectiveness!
By the 1990s the story had switched to gay men being a disruptive influence in the military and so recruitment was undesirable.
By 1999 the European Court of Human Rights had ruled against the UK and in 2000 actual recruitment began.
Now it seems like gay men are especially good soldiers, etc.
The call for more to join, along with transgendered, might just be down to a lack of manpower generally, though.

This is only anecdotal, not based on any scientific study, but all of the gay service members I know personally are very dedicated over achievers. I think this is due, at least in part, to a subconscious drive to prove the critics wrong. The logic is, "Since I'm gay I have to work harder, and be better, than others to prove that gays can do it in spite of what the critics say." I could be wrong, but that's how it appears to me.

You seem to have a beef with transgender people. You trash them on any topic you can.

You need to stop covering up for these transgender people. They do not belong in our community. They are a major liability for the gay and lesbian community. They give all of us the public image of whacky, radical freaks. They need to be pushed off our coat tails and compelled to form their own separate community. They are like shackles around our ankles. Let them earn their rights on their own like all the other minority groups did over the years.

You sound like a broken record.

You basically repeated the same thing, without actually explaining your problem. If people have the right not to accept trans-people, they have every right not to accept gay people too. No group deserves more rights than any other.

If it's the image you have a problem with, or some of their rhetoric perhaps that you deem radical, doesn't matter.

I can tell you that there's as many people who hate gay people because of pride events. I don't mean those that actually look like a civil event, I mean those "pride" events where there's exhibitionism/nudism/sex-in-full-public-view. If I'm disgusted by that, I'm sure it multiplied by the dozen with straight people.

A lot of lesbians are radical feminists too and they advocate the gender-based segregation of society and the male-populated parts be governed by women, along with disciplinary measures, emasculation, sterilization and castration. Not exactly discriminating among males whether they are straight, bi or gay.

Somehow you seem okay with both forms of this bullshit, because it comes from gays and lesbians, and not transexuals or transgender.

There are nutcases in each group, that put dirt on the civil rights achievements of decades worth, by nasty or reckless behavior and commentary, but that doesn't mean one can generalize and criticize the entire group, like you do.

Like I said, your problem seems personal in nature, and for that reasonable people use therapy, they don't repress and then lash out on the internet, or elsewhere.

You should be ashamed for sticking up for these whacky transgender people who are giving our whole community a negative black eye in terms of public image. You are way too liberal for your own good. Get out of your ultra leftist fantasyland.

If anyone is a broken record on here it is you with your nonsensical defense of these radical transgender people who should not be lumped with gays, lesbians, and bisexuals in the first damned place. You are blind to reality that these freaks are pulling all of us down and giving us a negative public image which is giving all the narrow minded bible thumping screwballs more ammunition to attack and demean us gays. You are also too liberal for your own good. It is time to permanently boot these trannies off of our coat tails once and for all which would greatly benefit gays, lesbians, and bisexuals.

That's odd. Most of my straight friends think I'm too conservative for a gay guy. Some of them are more liberal than I am icon_neutral.gif

Sucking dicks can raise troop morale! Everybody needs a blowjob!

Joking aside, it's great that they're letting more homosexuals to join.

And there will be cocksucking involved of course. icon_twisted.gif
