Back to the Future .. always seemed a bit 'Late' for a Comedy Adventure movie in the 1980's
The 80's were the start of using Pop Music as film scores, and bridging the gap between television and movies.
Its was the Big Hair era.. Weird Science, My Science Project, Top Gun, Night of the Comet, The Last StarFighter, Tron, Adventures in Baby Sitting. Six Million Dollar Man, Man from Atlantis, Buck Rogers.
The Original "V" was on TV.. a Spaced out version of the Vampire Series on the CW today. And Family Ties was that decades "Friends".
"Happy Days and Laverine & Shirely" was still on and that generations version of "That 70's Show"
Even "MacGyver" was into its 3rd or 4th season.
PacMan, Arcades and Video Games "were" the Personal Computers of the day.
By 1985 MTV had been on the air for something like 3-4 years and Cable was going mainstream. Not Digital Cable.. Analog Cable.
And most of the Big "Music" Names had already come and gone.
So much has changed since then.. as a time traveling ambassador from that year.. it feels weird to 'pluck' a single movie like BTTF out of the stream and hold it up as a represenative from the year 1985.
