OK, gents: Now let's have the other side. What's the most stereotypically Straight thing about you?

--I like to watch boxing (and for the sport, not for the hot guys; though, of course, . . . )

OK, your gay card is revoked.

LOL! Of course not really, as if I had such authority.

I think the straightest thing about me is my voice. It's deep, resonant, and, if I may allow myself this vanity, very butch, and commanding when I want. So is my husband's, as was my late partner's, both of them double-bass singers.

Mine is partly due to my Mother's advice. She always told me that people upon first meeting you will judge you by your voice. And if you SOUND impressive you will BE impressive. She drilled that into me repeatedly. I suspect because my voice was becoming faggy, if you'll forgive the word, and she took some rather original steps to correct it, which make another story.

Years later I learned both my parents knew I was gay, but never chose to tell me. Decades had to pass, making many mistakes, before I discovered it for myself. Anyhow...

Her words never left me, that I credit with much of my successful Army career. I got repeatedly and quickly promoted, from Private to Colonel, because I SOUNDED impressive, no matter what nonsense came out of my mouth.

Toss up between my messiness and my total lack of fashion sense.

At work, I have the messiest desk in the whole office, I'm known for it. It's far from the stereotypical fussy/prissy gay who has everything immaculate and tidy.

I don't really 'get' fashion, to me clothes are mainly to keep warm, be comfortable and not be naked. Obviously I want to look somewhat good but I have no interest in trends, what's 'in' or anything like that. I usually just wear jeans and t-shirts and hoodies.

^ This! For the love of god, this! Also, don't mind getting dirty, love the woods, building/fixing stuff, etc.

Also, have no interest in pop music, reality TV, drag, cattiness, celebrity gossip, etc. Not implying all gay guys are, remember we're talking stereotypes.

Mostly straight friends. Also very fashion-clueless. Perhaps even more so than some of my straight friends. My straight brother actually helps out when I pick clothes to wear or buy, or combining colors and style etc go figure icon_rolleyes.gif

Unrelenting and insufferable. But, nice to see that you've graciously yielded up your "authority" to determine who's gay and who's not. Now, go practice your trills.

out later in life so stereo typically mostly straight and no interest in changing. I do not disrespect my husband. I show the same affection in public as i would have done for my xwife in a previous life.

-have the skills with cars, home projects, computers tho no big joy working on these
    -good with the home financial
-use clothing till it wears out than buy the replacement at Buffalo Exchange
-not a people person, unlikely to remember your name face but have you in the contacts
    -bros more than hags
    -i take 3 minute showers
-not a germaphobe, tile floors in the house and i only vacuum when necessary.

I'm into the Japanese import car scene, actually know how to work on cars, am pretty handy around the house (plumbing, light electrical), and like scotch on the rocks (or neat), single malt of course.

Car addiction. I'm plotting a rebuild on my "toy" car's engine right now. Carrillo rods and wiseco pistons, titanium valve spring retainers and maybe a rotrex supercharger. (Among other things)

OMG, thank God I'm not the only one! icon_biggrin.gif

Yeah, I figure I'll need to start writing things down in a textbook of a sorts, because I plan to live on my own in near future so I can't rely on him for fashion tips and style icon_biggrin.gif. That's gonna take some brainwork icon_biggrin.gif.

I'm an avid contact martial artist - I luuuuurve the thril of a good kickboxing match

I also love Capoeira. It's such a versatile, beautiful martial art. Been doing it for a year. First grading coming up in November (less than one month). Does anyone else do Capoeira here?
