So you have a new guy on RJ message you. They put you on their hotlist and you exchange a couple of messages, but all you really know about him is what they claim they do for a living and where they live.

They ask you for your phone number, not just once but repeatidly.
"I'm not a cop", he said. (what does that have to do with anything)?

If I give someone my number its usually after some dialogue and it seems like a natural part of the process and they know important things, like I'm in a relatiionship. In this case I have no intention of handing out my number,

When do you hand out yours?

I initiate to offer immediately. But no one takes: my number and me seriously. icon_rolleyes.gif

I'd very rarely give mine out, but if it was someone I chatted with regularly, and I had plans to meet them, I probably would give my number. I think being presed for your number by someone you don't know well would probably ring alarm bells with me. Asking is fine, but it's weird to persevere when the number is refused, especially on the back of a very short interaction
