I read this editorial, we have the Sun Sentinel newspaper delivered. I thought it was pretty powerful. But it will have no influence on Rubio's candidacy.
The Sun Sentinel mainly goes to only heavily Democratic Broward County. Not to Miami-Dade County, the heavily Latino/Cuban area that is Rubio's political base. Nor to other parts of Florida, like the Panhandle and to counties north of Orlando, that are predominantly red-neck Republican.
Nor to Palm Beach County, which is overwhelmingly rich Republican, voters who wouldn't refuse to support a Republican if he was convicted of strangling his own mother. In fact, if he strangled his mother for the inheritance he would probably earn himself more votes with that money-mad. social-climbing crowd.
So I'm afraid this will have no impact on Rubio's fortunes here in Florida. Whether it does him any harm in the rest of the US is also questionable.
US voters have acquired a "team" mentality in recent years, totally polarized around the political parties. So long as Rubio is a Republican in good standing with his Party he can be guaranteed a strong base. And no editorial from a Florida newspaper with regional circulation will diminish that.
