So It's 2009; and I gained a ton of weight last year. Most of my profile pictures are over 6 months old and therefore don't show it.

I'm starting with my trainer today, and figured I'd do one of those progress pictures things. so Here goes.

I'll update this post with a profile shot before I go work out.

:/ this really sucks cuz I'm a fatty. (I gain ALLLLLLL of my weight in my gut.)

Good luck! ....losing weight, imho, is one of the hardest things to do. To tell yourself not to eat when you are hungry! OMFG!

I recommend that nu4you.net program they have here on RJ. If you can keep the records...I couldnt cuz my head is still too fucking fuck fucked up, I think it is great.

Also, this book gives good insight into how your body metabolizes food so you can make smart decisions...

OKay, so here I am right now.

I weigh about 260. icon_sad.gif We're going to be training once a week, but I'll be doing the exercises he gives me on monday on wednesday and friday. Tuesdays and Thursdays I'll come in and do my cardio and core stuff.

    148010_384409.jpg

Like I said, I gain all of my weight in my abdomen. I talked to my trainer (who; as mentioned before I know) and was saying how I signed up because i figured I could bust my ass by myself and lose the weight in a year or get some help and see what happens.

he told me if I come in and work like I did today, I should be able to drop the 50 pounds and get down around 200 in six months. (plus, I'm starting to diet for real now, as I'm paying for help that I don't want to sabotage.)

we'll see how it goes; and I guess I'll keep posting pictures in here throughout my twelve(ish) weeks of training and dieting.

oh yeah; for those of you who want to rain on my parade; I'm fat, I know it. Fuck off.

Have you considered how to tighten the skin? I have heard that if you lose the fat too fast, then the skin doesnt have time to tighten up with the reduction in size.

well most lotions with Vitamin E also have some sort of collagen in them

Vitamin E helps promote healing of skin, while the collagen helps with elasticity. It's good for scars and stretchmarks; etc.

I was thinking more along the lines of my stretch marks; not so much the shrinking factor.

We're gay, the gym is church and as my religious fanatic mother used to say and it applies here: if all saved people come to church only, noone else will get saved. LOL, that didn't stop her from gossiping about everyone she thought a worse sinner than she was. Anyway, don't get me started on my mother. What I mean to say is: you belong in the fitness community and even if you did seriously fall off the wagon, get back on and ignore those esteemed members of the congregation who get their kicks on gossiping about guys who are bigger sinners than they are.

I think I'm in love with the cheerleader graphic, Iguana. icon_redface.gif

    alright.

I had no idea that so much could be accomplished using so little.

We did a lot of isometrics.

prone iso, R side iso, L side iso, bridge, cobra, Alternating arm/leg extensions

then he threw in some really light weights and we did some

high stair steps (alternating), squat curl presses, scaptionX (whatever that means; they were just lateral raises at a different angle), and some other stuff I can't remember right now.

so; full exercises on MWF, and TTH is just going to be cardio and iso core stuff.

it's tuesday and I have to admit, my workout went fairly well today; got on the bike and kept myheart rate around 150 bpm for 30 minutes; then did my core before hopping in the sauna.

I just had dinner which consisted of a little bit of plain spaghetti pasta(with a splash of EVOO), about a cup of steamed brocolli, and some plain grilled chicken breast. yum.

I think I can really do this whole changing eating habits thing.

    Andy,
Lots of guys on here have done it, and you can too. Feel free to hop on the advice from the guys in the challenge, but many here have done it without any particular program. We're all here to help. I can just share my experiences of the last few months, which might be helpful. The biggest one is: know what you are putting into you mouth. Is that really a serving, or three servings? How many calories are in that?
