ABC reportedly won't allow two men to dance as a couple together on "Dancing with the Stars."

An openly gay singer, Who Is Fancy (yes, that is what he calls himself), is set to perform his new song, "Boys Like You," with Ariana Grande and Meghan Trainor on the reality competition show's November 23 episode. The song is about a man falling in love with another man, so the singer's choreographer wanted to have two men dancing with each other in the performance. But TMZ reported that ABC wasn't having it

ABC reportedly said it would allow "near dancing," such as the performance earlier this week in which pro dancers Alek Skarlatos and Carlos PenaVega basically toss each other around to Queen's "We Will Rock You."

I can't imagine the people who watch dancing with the stars will be offended at swing to men dance but not be offended by a song sung by a man about two men falling in love. Will they have him sing back up and ask him to change the lyrics in his own song.

Bruno Tonioli is a judge on both the US and UK versions of this show. I've noticed that on the US show his comments are far less suggestive and flirtatious toward guys than on the UK show. I assume this is at the request of the US producers. In many ways, the US entertainment industry remains somewhat puritanical in outlook, certainly by UK standards, which, in turn, are probably more restrained than those seen in Continental Europe. That said, the UK show has never featured a same-sex dance couple and I'm not aware of any future plans to do so. Whether that amounts to a "ban" is a moot point.

Smart move considering that their primary audience consists of red state republican bigots. The UK version didn't allow it either...so....yeah. Shit show anyways.

Are you just trolling, as usual, or would you care to explain why you think this decision is "right"? I'm genuinely interested, but I doubt you'll respond. Like a coward, you just post crap and then run away to make your next idiotic one-liner somewhere else.

I don't get it. That show is seriously gay. Dancers, costumes, theatrics... come on.
