I guess this definitively proves she wouldn't really have a shot against Mayweather.

She's a great fighter but this loss was good for her. She's gotten too cocky. Not touching gloves is considered a great disrespect in martial arts. How she deals with this setback will determine her legacy. Her opponents may not be as afraid of her anymore.

I think her reputation has been built against mostly wrestlers and judo practitioners. This is the first really strong boxer I remember her going up against. Now the naysayers are all going to be claiming that her all around game was never that strong.

This loss doesn't take away the fact that she's been undisputed this whole time. However, I have no idea why she tried to outbox a boxer when grappling is her strength.

Off topic but I still believe Serena Williams deserved the best female athlete for the espn awards lmfao.

Who got it? Caitlyn Jenner? I think I've mentioned before I'll always prefer Venus. I have this idea if I sat next to Venus on a plane she'd be nice and we'd chat and exchange phone numbers to text while Serena would just glare at me for taking up too much room. Not that either one would ever be in the same section of a plane I'd be in. I think Venus is more like her mother and Serena is more like her father. But that could all be in my head.lol

Ronda Rousey won the best female athlete for the espy. I really like her but Serena had the most dominant year in female sports. I didn't see the logic.

Venus definitely keeps a calmer head on and off the field but Serena hasn't really been an ass off the court. I'm sure she'd be nice to you lol. I hope she'd be nice to me cuz i'm getting that autograph icon_cool.gif

I really haven't heard of Serena being anything but gracious to her fans. And she's part of Taylor Swift' s pussy and hasn't snapped any of those models' necks so she must be pretty level-headed.

    **Taylor Swift's posse not pussy
I don't know if that was autocorrect or Freudian.

Ronda tried to grapple her virtually the entire fight.

She was boxing her way into the clinch, where she was out techniqued.

This was the first time, she had been out grappled. Holly's coaches prepared her really well, and Holly is a very big and strong girl....the first time Ronda has fought someone as strong as her and as skilled, who didn't crack under the pressure. Holly is very mentally tough.

It's not that Ronda isn't great at Judo...it's that Holly was great at stopping Ronda's Judo.

Without her Judo, Ronda isn't as skilled a fighter as Holly. Holly is a little faster, a little taller, a little stronger and a hell of a lot more experienced.

Plus Holly is a nice humble person, instead of an arrogant petulant child, so there's that.

    Also,

if you go to youtube and type in:

"Firas Zhabi breakdown Holm fight" you'll get an excellent short video by one of the best MMA coaches in the game, detailing in pretty simple terms with pictures why Ronda lost.

Rousey is a superb athlete, but you can't win them all. Serena Williams, for example, is head-and-shoulders better than her competitors, but she lost to mediocre Vinci at the US Open (the same Vinci who lost to Venus twice in a row after the US Open). Rousey will be back, hopefully better, stronger, and wiser.

Media hype really put Ronda on too high a pedestal. She's a great athlete but her losing shouldn't have come as that much of a shock. If Silva, Cain and Barao can lose (and those dudes were mega-dominant too!) then Ronda can lose, and should be able to without being cast to scorn.
