So now, no Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts, just Scouts?

Explorer posts have been part of the BSA and have been "co-Ed" for a while now...

I've been out of it for about 45 years and didn't know that.

I don't think it would make much difference in the modern suburban model of scouting.

The girl scouts are better. They have cookies. ;)

But seriously, the Girl Scouts are not a religious organization so they have not had the problems that the Boy Scouts have had.

Scouts Canada has been co-ed in all levels for over 20 years now, from age 5 up to age 24. On the other hand, Guides Canada is still girls-only.

Can't wait to see how Guides starts to handle "self-identifying" in their next policy revision.....

Although... thinking back to the late Pleistocene when I was sometimes a camp counselor...
Wrangling a camp full of boys was a whole lot easier than trying to ride herd on a co-ed camp. Although I had a lot more experience with the former, at least we didn't have to worry about essentially every single one of them trying to pair up and sneak off into the woods for hanky panky at some point.

Enough of this absolutely mental political correctness.

A friend of mine was telling me about the political correctness mumbo jumbo surrounding birthday party invitations at the school her kids go to. If one kid is invited, the whole class must be invited so that no one gets upset. The alternative is to secretly invite the kid/s outside of school and swear them to secrecy so that kids who haven't been invited don't have a meltdown... Is this preparing them well for the real world? I think not...

I also heard that local shopping malls are now not allowed to play Christmas carols so as not to offend Muslims and assorted others. Some have also chosen not to erect Christmas trees in areas where there is a larger Muslim clientele...

Also know for a fact that local swimming pools are closed to the general public one day per week so that Muslim women can swim together.

The world has gone friggin nuts...

Yeah. Only about 10% of the boys...
