Sometimes I'm ashamed of my home state.

    From the article:

"Conservative members of the Texas Board of Education don’t want to create a group of state university professors to fact-check students’ textbooks for potential errors, despite recent controversies over factually inaccurate information about slavery in schools’ educational materials."

There is nothing that the Texas Board of Education can to to prevent others from doing the fact checking and publicizing the results. If others do that, and no doubt some will, they could make the Texas Board of Education look silly.

They should not be able to use the term "Texas Board of Education."
