Wasn't Luxembourg the country for whom the republicans would not approve a gay man to be the USA ambassador?

See? Even the threat of a gay ambassador tore Luxembourg apart and lead directly to this! icon_twisted.gif

Actually gay Jim Hormell was appointed by Clinton to be ambassador to Luxembourg in 1997, but his appointment was fought by the catholic church and the religious right, and he could not get confirmation in the republican senate. He was eventually re-appointed in 1999, as a "recess" appointment, so the Senate could not block it.
