MuchMoreThanMuscle saidDid you Christian/Muslim thread get deleted?

Seems like a few threads were deleted.

Yes, several threads are gone. Yet threads that were made to mock RJ members are still there.

I don't agree with his numbers,

but it's pretty clear that there is a pretty large market for sharia law. And why not? it sounds cool. "Sharia Law"....sounds kind of sexy, like a hot belly dancer is going to come and strip you down and spank you with a yard stick....you know, if you're naughty.

Maybe so many people support it because they don't know what it is. We need to educate them, "no it has nothing to do with strippers"

I'm too lazy to look up the [one] source he lists for his research...much less do the math or look for other sources on the same material. But I won't discount the possibility of those numbers being correct-ish.

Then again, if you ask most Christians who frequently go to church if they would like strict Christianity laws in place instead of our current govt laws, the percentage would probably be pretty similar.

So, let's let the religions fight it out while we sit back with margaritas and beers and watch the videos they post online.

OH NO NO NO! No alcohol is allowed near Muslims. Look what they did here to a man they found walking down the street drinking a beer in London.

Surely even if the radicals aren't the minority of Muslims, we shouldn't judge all muslims the same!

    That's just crazy talk.

I work at a company with a diverse workforce of many religions, and there are good and bad muslims, just as there are good and bad non-muslims.

That has to be one of the most asinine things I've ever heard.

The difference is that when there is a bad Muslim, it's often a really bad Muslim.

There are radical muslims and moderate muslims: A radical muslim wants to behead you! A moderate muslim wants a radical muslim to behead you.

There's probably more truth to that than we realize or care to admit.

The messenger of course. When they can't argue the issue the intellectually deficient resort to ad hominem attacks.

Thank you MMTM for the info. That's a bit more informative than what showme provided which without any background information is just an ad hominem attack. It would still be nice if he would provide data refuting shapiro's numbers rather than prima facie dismissing him.

Honestly I never heard of the guy before. But even if his numbers are double, that's still unbearable statistics. We do not need more terrorists, thank you very much.

Same here Radd. It bothers me that people dismiss others' arguments out of hand yet offer no data of their own to support their opposing view and we are to take their word for it as if they are an expert on the subject.

Silence implies consent so when the "peaceful majority" allow the radical minority to hijack their religion, I can only assume they tacitly agree with the radicals and are, by default, aligning themselves with them. If you aren't part of the solution, you are part of the problem.

Ashdod saidnot all muslims are terrorists, but all terrorists are muslim

Totally untrue. Timothy Mc Veigh was not a Muslim and he killed hundreds in Oklahoma. The guy who shot up Sweden was a right-wing Christian.

What is true is that terrorism is the tactic of some major Muslim groups like ISIS and Al-Quaeda, the Taliban. The Muslim extremist groups are attracting lots of young fighters from around the world. Their numbers are not great, but their impact is huge.

Many Muslims don't stand up against the extremists because they are afraid of being killed. There are hundreds of millions of Muslims and perhaps several hundred thousand jihadists around the world. 1% of the people who are adherents to Islam can make a huge bang.
