There was a time when I would always put money in the Salvation Army kettles. If I walked past the same bell-ringer every day, I put money in every time -- $1, $2, $5 at a time. But when I learned of the Salvation Army's blatant anti-LGBT actions I stopped giving to them. I will not give a single penny to the Salvation Army again. Now, I prefer to donate to secular charities.

First act of apology the Salvation Army can do for our community is to stop lumping us in with those transgender radicals.

People will forget all about it in due time. Never donating money- never have.

I continue to donate. The donations will go to helping people in need, and that's the important part.
