NYT: Researchers found that although white and black patients reported severe pain with the same frequency, one group was likelier to receive medication.

More NYTimes Liberal Race Baiting. The whites should be receiving LESS pain medication instead of more for minorities.

Another case of correlation being mistaken for causation and creating more crap. And people wonder why they call it "junk science."

I think i remember reading a studying a while back that sighted that people (Americans), viewed blacks as more able to tolerate pain. I think it was one of those implicit bias test that was used to do the study.

I remember once watching the news regarding this same topic. When prescribing medication to minority patients, there were limitations upon receiving due to the hype coming from African Americans and drug substance abuse. I wish I had the source but he's right. It has been discussed before

Maybe with all the hype about uneducated middle age white people seeing a rise in their mortality partially due to opiates that will change.

Garbage comment. Only feeble-minded people feel the need to make garbage comments like this. One example of how poorly thought out this "argument" is lies in the fact that the study zeroed in on patients reporting abdominal pain... which makes it unlikely that the emergency room would administer pain medicine orally (in other words "pills"). More importantly, the abstract linked in the article itself presented weak data such that any normal person could question the study's implications without even needing to go where you went. Perhaps that was above your capacity.
