Between these four groups, made the grunge sound of the 90's,

    Rock stardom, kills early.....

Kurt Cobain, 27 (lead singer Nirvana) 1994
Layne Staley, 34 (lead singer Alice In Chains) 2002
Scott Weiland, 48 (lead singer Stone Temple Pilots) 2015
Eddie Vedder, 50 (lead singer Pearl Jam), still alive

Yeah, but Andy Wood died, allowing Vedder to take his place. The seminal album of the 90's was Temple of The Dog, which was an ad hoc tribute to Wood.

And you forgot Chris Cornell (still rockin), Mark Lanegan (still rockin), Billie Joe Armstrong (still rockin), and all the guys who weren't singing (e.g. Jerry Cantrell, Dave Grohl, Dave Navarro, etc.).

Layne Staley story is quite creepy and sad. I read it once straight from wikipedia, the way the guy ended his days completely absorbed by cheap drugs, he had to wear a mask to hide his destroyed face and cover his arms to hide the drug marks. He recluded himself in his house doing drugs for years until he OD.

I forgot Chris Cornell, 51, lead singer Soundgarden.

    Green Day? NO, not grunge

I think out of the 5 grunge sound singers listed, Layne got the best vocal, as far as low range.
The song Would?, like he carries that last note "if I would could you"

Its funny, this AIC Would song I try karaoke, I got the tone down pretty good icon_lol.gif
