I watched a video on here. Cable chest. He said do not pull your shoulders forward on chest exercises. He said that was delts getting involved. Delts lift up. They do nothing else really. If your shoulders come forward in any sagittal plane, it is pec minor. Pec minor pulls the shoulders forward. So bringing your shoulders forward is a pec movement, not a deltoid movement. Pec minor. Pec major pulls the arms forward. Pec minor pulls the shoulders forward. Both pec movements. What a load of crap. Who are these fitness experts?

The videos and fitness articles were created by the founders and trainers at Diakadi gym in San Francisco. Do not know if they are still partnered with RealJock, but doubt it since nothing on that side of the site has been updated in years.

Can you embed the video or post a link?

Perhaps it was just a short instructional and time was not allotted to go in depth about minimizing delt recruitment during the exercise.

I'm very confused by what you mean by "come forward". I'll have to assume you mean scapular protraction since you mentioned pectoralis minor. Deltoids do more than just lift up though. Once again I'm not sure what is meant by up. The deltoid abducts and flexes the shoulder which are both going up in a sense. Deltoid also extends the shoulder and rotates the shoulder internally and externally.

This isn't really a fitness site. I wouldn't take any fitness articles/videos seriously.
