I have not had any shoulder problems but it surprises me how many people do have them. I was talking to a group of friends and all of them have had some kind of shoulder problems. Most of them have had operations. I didn't realize that shoulder problems were so common. They are all a little older than me, but still.

One thing I did find out is that if you have shoulder problems, it is very important to get it repaired within 6 months. The sooner the better. Or else the muscle can turn to fat.

I actually had a right rotator cuff flare up for 3 1/2 years. It really sucked, because it greatly impacted the amount of physical activity I could do, especially swimming. Finally, after all that time and endless attempts at various treatments, I tried acupuncture, combined with turmeric supplements. I am now back to swimming 3-4 times a week with no pain. I still am not pushing myself to my previous level, but at least I am back to doing laps in the pool, and it feels great! Yes, shoulder injuries and pain are actually very common.
