    Yep...it is a lot easier to get into the US with a visa, not to mention the visa waiver program.

    As someone who benefits from the Visa Waiver Program (the UK was the first country to be granted visa waiver status) I think this is a perfectly reasonable measure.

    I wonder, however, if the definition of "been to Syria, Iraq, Iran or Sudan during the past five years" would include, say, UK armed forces personnel who have been to any of those countries on operations (or, more recently, in an SF or military advisory role). Thankfully, I was last in Iraq more than 5 years ago, so I'll be okay. The number of people affected in this way would, in any case, be very small.
