I have a secret santa at work and its only a small limit of 20$, but I'm buying for literally the most impossible person. He's over 50, vegetarian, sort of 'GMO free' 'organic' kind of guy.. and I want to buy him something fun and creative, but useful.. and not the typical shave cream kit that most people would get him.

I had to ask all you gays, cause lets be honest.. you all are the most creative~

    Let me know your ideas!

At work we did the thing where a person opens the first gift, then the next person can "steal" that gift or take an unopened one from the pile, then the next can steal one of the other two, etc. The ones that everyone always stole were the Amazon gift certificates.

you can make up a wok basket cheaply. find a deep wok, and get chopsticks, dump some rosemary in some red wine vinegar, a soy sauce, chinese noodles, and other stirfry things in a dollar store basket and wrap in plastic. For more money add a pair of movie tickets (dinner and a movie)

Go to the best organic produce store you can find and ask them to make up a gift basket of organic vegetables and fruits. Tell them that it needs to last of a few days and make sure it is not wrapped in cellophane or plastic which with encourage spoilage. Or you could get a gift card from the place if it is relatively convenient for him.

If he is the sort of vegetarian that eats cheese, a large cut of quality cheese is actually a nice food gift. You could probably get a pound of Parmigiana Reggiano for about $20.

if you know what kind of music he likes, then you can inquire about the band, or some of the others. CDs cost $20 and under...

Most places I've worked had prohibitions on bringing alcohol on the job site - even sealed. Having it in your car in the parking lot was prohibited so unless the party is offsite wine may be a no-no.
