I love eggnog. It was a holiday staple for me in the past. Sometimes with brandy, less with rum. But I could drink a quart of it a day (the eggnog, not the brandy).

And I typically gained nearly 10 pounds at Christmas, that would take the rest of the winter to lose. Now I avoid eggnog, much as I love it. We bought a single quart at Thanksgiving, just to be festive & seasonal, but none since. I'm refusing to buy any more.

And I continue to lose weight. First time that's ever happened during the holidays, when I always gain weight. I think eliminating eggnog, and continuing to eat light, is producing results. icon_biggrin.gif

And yet we're still doing the annual round of countless parties. We had one last night, and we'll be leaving for another tonight shortly. While others were filling their plates to overflowing at the buffet, and then going back for seconds and even thirds, my plate wasn't even half-covered. At some parties I've not eaten a single thing. Restraint can do wonders for a girl's figure. icon_wink.gif

Eggnog needs brandy. And for goodness sake, nutmeg, not cinnamon.

There is not enough nutmeg in eggnog to give you a buzz, but a fellow I know in college managed to down about a half cup of it one night while he was working in the library. It took them better than six months to straighten out the card catalog after that night.
