"Unexpected Expenses".........money is a strange one

There is a feeling of helplessness and being out of control when:

Times when you CHOOSE to spend money and times when you are FORCED to spend money

CHOOSE to spend: Christmas Shopping, Wedding Gifts, Kids Clothing..etc
FORCED to spend: Water Heater Breaks, Car Accidents/Tickets, Medical Emergency..etc

I assume this has happened to most people?, what are your thoughts when the universe throws us a money curve ball. We all have free will and we use this when we choose to spend our money but when something happens when we are not in control of the situation and are forced to use our money, that we didn't expect, that we might not have available, why does this happen to us and is this part of some kind of universal Karma?

Maybe the enlightened RJ members have a clue to this strange science phenomenon icon_confused.gif

I think it's a sign that you're a grownup and not dependent on your parents.

I think you're going wrong here:

    We all have free will

this is ideally why you live within your means and have an emergency fund. silly.

or at least keep a bit of credit available for the times you dont have the fund available.

if you are just so poor you are completely unprepared, it is time to learn how to suck better.

As my old ski rep used to say, you don't have to pay bills - they'll always send you another one.

    Several things.

    On a newtonian physics level.
Objects/systems/things require maintenance. Entropy is a law of the universe. Chaos grows if left unchecked. If you have a garden you need to weed it. Boilers need annual maintenance. This is a physical law.

On a metaphysical level on the level of the law of attraction and manifestation. Maybe the universe is responding to hidden fears or maybe there is chaos in your being (thoughts and emotions). If you bring more order to your inner world you will get more order in the outer world.

Also the more you pay attention to problems the more problems you will have.

On a financial level maybe it is a call to you to grow your income so that these financial emergencies are no longer a problem.
The universe is expanding maybe it is calling you to do the same.

I think a better approach is instead of focusing on the problems ask yourself how can you create more financial abundance and miracles.

From my personal experience. I found a lot of time I was worried about money. I run my own business and am always in work mode even when not working.
Even though I'm generally a positive person, in the background hidden from my conscious awareness was a constant concern about money. I had become so used to it that it was the water I swam in so to speak. The only way I knew I was worried about money was to notice where the tension was in my body. There was always a constant low level of tension.

I've been doing some deep mediation work, working with some great coaches and reading more about the law of attraction and the 3 principles.
I have started to let go of these concerns, my body feels lighter and I am noticing more money coming in with less work and less worry. I'm working only 30% of my typical hours.
When I look back in the past, When I had fears about money I would usually manifest those fears down the line. Opportunities and miraculous events always came to me when I let go of worries and had fun in life. Unfortunately I had convinced myself that I needed to be serious and professional to make money.

Quantum physics has demonstrated the power of human (and even animal) intention on subatomic particles and on probabilities.
There are quite a few experiments I could direct you too.

Where? I googled it and i have gotten nothing but result after result of spiritual new age websites talking about meditation.

If you bring more order to your inner world you will get more order in the outer world.

I wonder how this applies to babies? Or monks being arrested by chinese agents?

If you define the universe as the light that we can observe, then yes. But most people think of the universe as everything that exists, so it's not actually expanding only our knowledge of it.

I am interested in these experiments you are mentioning, despite my skeptical tone.

Survey: How Americans meet unexpected expenses
    https://finance.yahoo.com/news/survey-americans-meet-unexpected-expenses-100000871.html

The washing machine broke, you chipped a tooth and the dog needs to visit a heart specialist. And that was just Tuesday.

Unexpected expenses are almost guaranteed to occur, but few Americans are budgeting for them by stashing money in savings each week or month, the latest Money Pulse survey from Bankrate.com has found.

Bankrate commissioned Princeton Survey Research Associates International to conduct its Money Pulse survey on budgeting and unexpected expenses. It interviewed 1,000 people December 17-20, 2015, with results having a sampling error of plus or minus 3.8 percentage points.

"The survey shows that a very significant minority of American households apparently don't have the resources to pay for an unexpected expense of around $1,000," says Stephen Brobeck, executive director of the Consumer Federation of America.

Unexpected expenses occur with such frequency that they should be accounted for by budgeting to save money for emergencies. In Bankrate's survey, 4 of 10 respondents or their immediate family ran into a major unexpected expense last year. Just 57% made it out of 2015 financially unscathed.
