If true, in addition to jail time she needs to be irreversibly sterilized.

Jail Time? This should be death penalty crime. But, she may well end up getting knifed in some women's prison hellhole.

No need for a trial , death penalty is what she deserves .

The poor kid will be having nightmares for decades -

One wonders about the father. What kind of person is he getting involved/married with a woman like this. What has done in response to the mother's attempts to make the boy look like a girl?

Now8News is a fake news site:

    http://www.snopes.com/tag/now8news/

The dateline on the Now8News page for this story was 16 Dec 2015, but a google search revealed numerous similar posts on other sites as early as July 2015, and none of them are actual news sites.

No, - TRUE Story - originally on TV news show:

    http://now8news.com/georgia-woman-tries-to-perform-sex-change-operation-on-her-4-year-old-son-in-burger-king-bathroom/

So your citation that it's indeed TRUE is to repost the same hyperlink as the OP? "I saw it on the news, so it must be true!"

Mea maxima culpa. I saw the story on another site, which referred to the now8news site - which looked lie a TV site.
    Entertaining, anyway.

I didn't even bother to read the article. It is so ridiculous and non-sensical that it couldn't possibly be true.

obviously nobody got your satire so you have pretty much no sense of humor, now I see the funny side

Well, it's an entire site dedicated to satire so they must be doing something right. As this thread proves, not everyone is capable is grasping anything that isn't slapstick comedy.

With human stupidity being what it is, my own made up "law" suggests that whatever human stupidity that can be imagined has a 100% probability of having already happened or will happen at some point in the future, and whether Snopes, or any of us, will ever come to learn about such things or not.

"Those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it." The quote is most likely due to George Santayana, and in its original form it read, 'Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.'

Unfortunately learning and knowing history is no guarantee of not repeating it.

I think there are things in Freudian psychology where children are afraid of their parents because of a belief they would castrate them out of incestual jealousy. And to Freud, the idea of parents castrating their children may be more frequent than what this lone story would suggest. And then there's the infamous child gender experiment of John Money who recommended the castration of a Canadian boy following a botched circumcision and administering estrogen to him to the point he had to experience female puberty ("Brenda" had to get himself a double mastectomy later on and eventually killed himself). Not to mention state sterilization laws in many states in the early 1920's and 30's for the mentally enfeebled and the hospitalized... Sterilization often meant castration, or essentially cutting the balls off, and not some careful vasectomy. And human stupidity being what they are, I'm quite sure such things will be repeated.

Though it would never enter my own mind, I'm quite sure that among parents who have to raise autistic children and those with Down Syndrome (and in many cases well into their adulthood), the thought of neutering their child has crossed their mind at least once, ha ha.
