The oddest thing about this, aside from southbeach, is that nobody in the history of Florida had ever before considered putting in the same sentence Bal Harbour with Glades County.

They had no authority to be acting internationally & independently. Little po-dunk Bal Harbour police department, as one of these news reports correctly termed them, which is just north of Miami Beach. They were busy laundering money to drug dealers in South America on their own.

With no accountability. So no one knows if those local cops didn't pocket some money on their own. Or arrange private drug deals. What was their goal? Municipal Bal Harbour versus the international drug trade? Is that part of their local tax paxpayer-funded law enforcement mission?

And it seems they botched it, anyway, whatever their intentions. The bad guys made money, and were able to corrupt their countries' politics.

Thanks, metta. This interests me. Bal Harbour is just 20 or so miles south of me.

    1) Bal Harbour is not a "po-dunk" town, nor is their police department.

    2) The ENTIRE police department was not involved, regardless of what the anti-police, radical leftist Metta unit would have you believe.

Estimates of Bal Harbour's 2014 population for year 2014 are 2600 residents. Quite the metropolis, isn't it?

And its police force is proportionately small. You can't move these kinds of funds unless the top leadership, and a good number of the cops, are involved. But that's what these articles are reporting.

SB should argue with the sources, not with metta.

As usual it's the Right Wing southbeach1500 unit feeding us political lies. It's OK if he gives us extreme Right Wing crap here, via all kinds of whack job links, but gawd help anyone who provides info he doesn't like. icon_rolleyes.gif

There's only about 40 or so employees in the force so even if everyone wasn't directly involved, maybe not dollars to donuts but real possible that everyone knew at least something about it.

And if aware of the crime even if not involved but if having failed to report to the feds, isn't that complicity?

Speculation on my part, but real possible. We'll see what charges are eventually filed if any.

But attacking both metta and myself all in one day southbitch? Two fronts at once?

You should go fuck yourself with a double ended dildo.
