Hey guys. So last winter at this time I was working as a snowboard instructor in Crested Butte, Colorado. Being in Boston this winter, I'm finding that I'm missing it terribly. Just wondering if there are any other guys on this website that are really into snowboarding as well. I really just feel like talking about boarding, living vicariously though guys that are getting to do it. Perhaps if anybody is on the East Coast we could plan a weekend trip to the mountain?

Sorry if this is a weird place to post, but now that Outboard is gone I find it hard to meet other gay dudes that are into riding. Anyway hope everybody is having a great winter!

I used to be but it's been a few years. Keen to get back into it.
I go to the French Alpes usually. I've never snowboarded in the US.

    I might do that someday.

I got a season pass for a hill in the Vancouver suburbs and am having a lot of fun playing with my snowboard. I was at Whistler for a day last week but the snow was a bit too packed for my taste. I'm going back in a few weeks; hopefully the snow will be better.

I'm thinking of painting my board with a neon blue glow in the dark paint. I figure it will look cool AND help my kids find me. I wasted an hour and a half at Whistler trying find one that went the wrong way...

OutRyders does group trips for skiers and snowboarders from the Boston area if you want to go with a group. I usually prefer blue runs and usually go solo. I wouldn't recommend going to Cannon in NH - I snowboard and I always have to hear a lot of comments while riding the lifts there from skiers who think the place should be restricted to keep snowboarders out. I usually do Sunapee or Wachusett Mtn if I want to stay close to home. If I'm up for a longer drive, I do Loon, Jay Peak, Okemo, Bretton Woods, or Wildcat.

Thanks for the tips. I'll keep them in mind.

Swimr.... thats the reason you SHOULD go ride Cannon mtn. You don't change an attitude by avoiding it.

I've only ever had the opportunity to ride the East coast, mostly upstate NY and Vermont. If you have any questions I could suggest some of my favorites. I'm out of commission this winter due to a sprained ankle. :/

Second recommendation for the OutRyders. I've been a member for 10+ years. We're a fun group. icon_biggrin.gif

OutRyders' big trip this year is to Telluride Gay Ski Week (Feb 20-27). (Anyone else going?)

Regarding Cannon Mnt, wow it's one of my favorite mountains. I've never heard any comments against boarders while I was there. The OutRyders will be there on March 6th.

Snowboarding is really popular here in Wisconsin. But I am more into cross country skiing.

Nordic Mountain is a nice place to snowboard here in Wisconsin. It is in the little town of Mt. Morris in Waushara County. We haven't had any snow here yet, but they can make snow, if it is cold enough. They had a 12 inch base, but due to the recent rains, they had to close. But they are reopening on Friday. You can also ski, snow tube, and mountain bike there.

I had posted recently here in the Forums about skiing. No responses. Got a few responses in the Travel Forum about guys skiing/boarding this upcoming winter. Anybody planning on Aspen/Utah/Telluride/Mammoth/Whistler Gay Ski weeks?
