Anyone know what the attitudes towards homosexuality is in Icelandic culture? I would have figured that since historically it was settled by Vikings, a very warlike people, it would be very male-dominated, and most cultures like that are homophobic...any thoughts?

Gay Pride is about the biggest party Reykjavik has. The gay rights organization has their headquarters on the main street in town. The biggest pop star in the country is gay. One of the singers in the Icelandic duo that represented them in Eurovision is gay. For the most part it's a non-issue as far as I can tell.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Culture_of_IcelandIceland is liberal in terms of lesbian, gay bisexual and transgendered (LGBT) matters. In 1996, Parliament passed legislation to create registered partnerships for same-sex couples, covering nearly all the rights and benefits of marriage. In 2006, by unanimous vote of Parliament, further legislation was passed, granting same-sex couples the same rights as different-sex couples in adoption, parenting and assisted insemination treatment.
